Default painting rims help

well im planning to paint my stockers flat black tomorow anyone have some pointer, im going to sand them down with 320 grit sand paper, the wash an spray with duplicolor flat black, im not plannig to prime them befor because ive heard its not mandatory, also i have to large cans do you guys thinnk that would be enough? thanks for the help

if you plan on shooting your wheels with a can then it doesn't matter what prep you do.
buy a Daewoo, than no one will care if your wheels look like sh * it

do not rattle can it bro!!! seriously. it may look nice to you at first, but because im guessing u have never painted before. everyone will notice the runs and imperfections in that rattle can paint.

spend a little extra. go to pep boys, and pick up an hvlp gun for like $70. then get yourself some black paint, and clear the puppies when your done. water sand in between. dont half ***, cmon.

well i have some experiance in body work so i can paint i have painted about 3 cars now an turned out pretty good im not worried bout runs i can handle that just wasnt sure if anyone had any other tips, this will be my first set of rims i paint, i do have an hvlp gun but no compressor at home thanks for the concern tho

IF you really painted cars at a body shop you wouldn't do a can job

320 is a little too rough to spray over you'll have a lot of sand scratches at least wet sand with 400 if your looking to sand quickly. personally I would just go over it with Grey scotch brite pads.

it should be finished with a minimum of 800 grit but if you paint at a body shop i'm sure you already know that.
