Default I need some help picking out tires for 18x9.5

I have a set of Rota P45Rs in my garage that ive been trying to mount for a while.
So i decided it was appropriate to waste this weeks paycheck on tires

The wheels are 18x9.5.
I was thinking i would get 245/40/18 F and 275/40/18 R combo.

However, i have no experience with the newer tires and i dont know which ones are worth buying.

I have a budget of 600-650 dollars. What do you think are a good set to go with?

Im sorry if this is way too general of a question, and i can delete the thread if it is.

I would go with 35's because the 40 sidewall is a little tall. I had the same size but decided to not stagger the setup.

I just feel like 35s on 18" wheels will look too small

I have the 245/ 275 40-18 combo. Love it.

Might be tough in that price range. Also, I found that the tires I wanted (Toyo Proxes 4) didn't come in 275... that was after I bought the fronts. .

Check all the online places by typing in your sizes.

thats good to know. I did check, i just dont know which brands and models to choose over the others. Ive read all the reviews countles times but i would rather hear from members on here. I can wait a little longer and get better tires... maybe closer to $800

Depends on your drop (keep in mind, this is also a conservative drop).

I went with the Sumitomo tires from tirerack.com, to the door was $632, so pretty cheap, 255/40F and 275/40R, only because I thought the 245 looked stretched on the 9.5" rim, just me though, looks like alot of guys do it without a problem. About a month now with them, at lower speeds it doesn't "turn in" as fast, and much stiffer in the front, but at speeds it feels nice, much tighter than stock setup, not as flickable as the 225/45 front on stock rim. I have an Eibach pro kit that needs to go also, just need to find the time.

Good luck.

That's the HTRZIII, btw, thats also the P45R +20, I forgot to mention, sorry. I had the HTR+ on before these, they're not a bad tire, the HTRZIII is much quieter thusfar than the HTR+ was, they both offered excellent traction, I only use them for daily driving, so not terribly worried about running the twisties at 100+mph, or a track day with them, since I have an extra set of wheels now, I'm gonna purchase some Michelins for a track day in a couple months, and buying a jeep before the winter as a 3rd vehicle so not worried about driving in snow/ice etc... All in all I'd recommend them to the budget minded daily driver.

Nice, that's the tire I wanted originally, but they don't make a 255/40, bastards.

Well, my 275s all around on 9.5s treat me nicely.
Now, I am running 275s on 9s and 10s. Need to kill the rears and up the size.
