FAQ's: Offsets, pics, Tire Calc, etc...
The below offset specs are "conservative" We have acheived max fitments well beyond these specs, but below is for those of you who play it safe. When going to the edge...be sure to call to discuss it more throughly.

8.0 +18/+47 225/235/245
8.5 +24/+40 235/245

18 INCH WHEELS COME WITH A TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR TIRE SIZE CONNECTED TO O.E. VALVE STEM. NO LESS THAN 1/2 INCH AND NO MORE THAN 3/4 OF AN INCH HEIGHT DIFFERANCE BETWEEN FRONT AND REAR TIRE SIZE FOR ABS BRAKE SYSTEM/TRACTION CONTROL. 350Z'S WITH 18-INCH WHEELS HAVE A AIR MONITORING SYSTEM. THE SENSOR IS MOUNTED AT THE BASE OF THE VALVE STEM AIR PRESSURE SENSORS ARE A ONE PIECE UNIT AND CANNOT BE USED WITH REVERSE BARREL WHEELS
Wheel Offsets
The offset of a wheel is what locates the tire and wheel assembly in relation to the suspension. More specifically, it is the measured distance between the hub mounting surface and the center line of the rim. Below is an explanation of the various types of offsets which are pictured in the above graphic.
Positive Offset
A positive offset occurs when the hub mounting surface is on the street side (the side you see) of the center line of the rim. Most factory rims will have this type of offset.
Zero Offset
When the hub mounting surface is centered within the rim, it is known as a zero offset.
Negative Offset
If the hub mounting surface is on the brake side of the center line of the rim, it is considered a negative offset or “deep dish”.
Note that extensive negative offset can potentially cause increased steering wheel kick-back and place additional stresses on the vehicle's entire suspension.

those are almost identical in overall diameter. Nissan USA recommends keeping the stagger between .5 and .75 inches.
The only GGames currently available for your car are the 19's, and the sensor will not fit without the use of bands. The 18s will be here shortly, they should work...but we still need to test them

I have best traction for 1/4mi on my mind for my z, and I also plan to get a TT in the future.
Basicly I want the widest possible rims & sticky tires that I can get on 17in wheels.
I mean really wide. I am thinking physical limits here.
I have a base model 2004 stone silver with no brembo brakes or traction control.
Also, would you have these tires available? I havn't seen what I am looking for on your site.

JAx..tis a good question. No one has wanted to explore the limits of 17" wheels. Who knows...17x10.5 with 315-35-17 may fit out back...but no one has tried. Ill try to get another Z up here to measure for 17s.
I dont have a wheel weight database for this site built yet, but...every wheel that has come in here over the past 8mos has been weighed and is in our system

Thanks for the reply, I was also wondering that if 10.5's & 315/35/17's would fit in the back, then where could I find these tires and rims?
Of course weight is also a consern.

Larger Rear Tires
225-50/17 on front - can I go to 245-50/17 on the rear? Looks like there is 0.7 inch difference in height which looks to be about the same difference between front and rear with the stock 18" sizes. Do you foresee any problems with TCS, etc. Thanks.

another 350zx website is promoting goodyear eagle F1GSD3 tires.
they recommend 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18.
does discount tire have these and what do they cost?
can discount tire post the prices fo the cool wheels shown above?
