Default Big Favor! Price tires for me please....

I think I am getting scammed, but I don't know for sure.

I am a noob when it comes to tires, so I want to be sure this guy is doing me right...especially since his shop is across the street from my fathers and we have maintained a good relationship for 10+ years.... the pricing just doesn't seem right.

On a set of Falken FK452 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 with a +22 offset on all four wheels.... he is telling me $1030.00

Does this seem right, I've found them online for a bit cheaper, but Im not sure if they are the SAME exact tire. Do off sets matter when it comes to the rubber?

Thanks

edit: I meant, do offsets of the wheels matter when it comes to the tire selection

Sounds like he's not trying to rip you off, but you could probably find a better deal if you looked around more. Find out how much he would charge just to mount and balance all 4 wheels, then buy tires from someplace else. Check out Vredestein tires, there is a thread about them in this forum. I have them and I like them.

Yes. I'm sorry I didn't specify that.

It is including mounting and balancing, and he doesn't offer warranty but he says if anything goes wrong just bring it back and he'll fix it up....

What do you think about 1030 for those 4 tires mounted?

Nah... I know its easy to assume that, but he's isn't like that. Like I said, we have given him business, as well as a lot of our customers and employees, he's good for it. Give us free **** every once in a while if we are looking for something small....

I paid $607 shipped from Discount Tire Direct for a set of 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 Falken FK 452s and then paid $155 to mount and balance them - total cost $762. Obviously your cost for 19s will be a bit more, but $300 more? Seems like a bit much to me.

Is there a discount in your area , they will usually be the same price as discount direct.
