Default Will 255/35/R19 fit as replacement for 265/35/R19

I know nothing about tires and just wondering if I can replace my 265/35/19 with 255/35/19 tires and what the difference is?

It's only a 10 mm difference. How wide are the wheels?

Question why would you want to go smaller 255 and not go maybe a 285 on a 10 inch wheel?
whats the rear offset?

I don't know anything about wheels/tires. They're the grand touring rims and I saw a good deal on a pair of tires that are 255 and the bald ones I'm replacing are 265.

Of course you can put 255 mm tires on 10.0 inch wheels. I wouldn't but you can.

don't put 255/35/19s on the rear unless you are trying to go with the stretched tire look / dumped. your speedo will be off and / or your VDC will be off depending on what your front tire size is. People run 255/35/19s in the front of their cars, and 275/35/19 on the rear or 285/35/19.

The car looks more far more aggressive with the 285 rear not to mentions sits better on the road.. As far as handling the rear end does feel hella tight. The Michelin PS 2 on there may have something to do with that though
