Smile Stretch THIS!

So recently I get a nasty screw lodged in the outside drivers side front rim of my new 350Z Bridgestones. Take them to two tire stores, who won't touch anything in the outer rim. Not losing any air, but wife says, "if they won't repair it, get a new tire".
She says: "get a new tire"
I hear "upgrade".
Husbands and wives don't always understand each other... :-)
Anywho, I read so much hear about custom wheels and "stretched" tires.
The wheels that came on the car are perfectly fine - how much TIRE can I get on them?
Here are my new fronts - 245/40/18's
They are a little smaller than the rears - oh, darnn, gotta upgrade the rears now - here are your fronts, properly overstuffed!

umm stretching a tire means putting a thin tire on a relatively wide rim, hence stretch.... you are doing the opposite

these are the fronts - by smaller I meant a scoonch smaller in diameter - I was sleep deprived when I bought em - no lowering needed! So, do ya like the fat tire on road look vs. the stretched look? I like more tire on road - obviously!

Ps - those are both fat tire shots - same tire. Just trying to show what you can get on the rim of the stock 8 inch wide front. Looking forward to outfitting the rear 8 1/2 wheel.
Am sure the punk at the tire store is looking forward to that, too! Where is my government bailout?

PSS - one more note. The screw did not penetrate the inner wall. Thus, no pressure loss. It looked gnarly, but posed no imminent safety risk. Did not find THAT out until they were mounting the new tires! Yeah, tire stores! They suck! Do love that new tire smell, though...

There is a question hidden in here somewhere but I can't find it.

245/40-18 on an 8 inch wide wheel !!!! Who would have thought to do that? Hey OP , thats just crazy, i mean the tire is the proper width for the wheel and has the proper tire height, I think that front tire combo has never been performed 10k plus times.
