Default Work VS-XX question

On the VS-XX is the barrel forged? I know the face is cast but how about the barrel?

The barrel is cold spun aluminum not steel. There are some forms of casting that are very high quality such as MAT from Enkei that come close to forging in stregnth. So cast doesn't necesarilly mean it's cheap or weak.

Are the meister barrels different from the VS-XXs? Out of curiosity.
I always assumed they were steel based on how the metal behaved.
Not the first time I would be completely off base.

not the 3 piece s1.. they are full spun/cast wheels. I believe only the 2piece s1 are forged barrels. but even though they are not forged does not mean work wheels are weak.. they're known to be extremely strong.
