Default Looking for all season tires!!

Well,
It looks like I might be buying a 350z soon and right now it currently has 18x8.5 front 18x9.5 rear Work CR Kai Bronze Wheels, 245-40-18 front 275-40-18 rear Falken FK-452 Tires. I live in Michigan and want to use the wheels all year round, so I'm looking for some All Season tires that would handle good in Michigan winters and still perform well in the other seasons. I know Blizzak's are good, but are no ideal for anything other then winter. Is there a type of tire around or is it my best bet to get a set of winter wheels with Blizzak's on them? Thanks!!

I'd really like to use the CR Kai's all year round!!

You definitely want to keep the existing summer-performance tires and wheel setup intact and dedicated for warm weather running.

Since you are in Michigan, you need a dedicated winter wheel/tire setup. Your best solution is a 17” wheel with snow tire setup.

I understand. It must be winter... again.

I'm wondering why people keep thinking "all-season" when they need to think "winter."

Sorry guys!! Ok, I'm gonna go with a winter tire/wheel setup. The car I'm looking to get has about a 3-4inch clearance on 18 inch wheels. If I go with 17's, does that mean I'll have 2-3 inches of clearance? Should I go with 18's with winter tires? Sorry for the dumb questions.

^^ Clearance will be the same with 17” or 18” wheels. That because it’s the tire size that determines your clearance and not the wheel size.

For your winter wheel setup, you want to go with 17” wheels. That provides a larger selection of tires and a better setup. You will also save $$ if you go with 17” wheels.

16 or 20 inch wheels. Tires are the same height.

you'll want four 17x7 or 17x8 wheels with a 225/50-17 winter tire or even a 215/55-17

You don't want to drive a RWD car with a descent amount of HP on all seasons in the summer never mind the winter. In the winter, all season tires would be so useless. Even with winter tires the 350z is almost useless in the winter, I just can not imagine how horrible it would be with all season tires.

Honestly you wouldn't even make it out of your driveway on all seasons. All season really means 3 seasons just so you know. There is NO SUCH THING AS A 4 SEASON TIRE. Please do not think there is. So called all-season tires in the winter will sorta work as they are just barely good enough to keep you from crashing in the winter. That's like a knife wound vs a shot gun wound, its better but...

My Audi A4 (quattro) last year on all seasons was seriously crap and it's AWD neverind RWD. With winters it's awesome.

Stop being a little punk and run those summer tires during the winter.

well i know you are going the winter tires route, but i got Goodyear F1 All-Season Ultra performance tires. I like them so far..can't wait to try them out in the full blown winter. well don't get me wrong, I am not gonna really gonna and drive my car in the snow. More like a test drive for 1/4 mile. haha..hopefully i don't hit anything.
