Default 18x11 +25, how to make it work? Will it???

So here's the thing, I want to run an 18x11 +25 (rear) and 18x10 +27 (front) Volk GTS. I feel I've done tons of research on these things over the past two months to the point I felt confident and was ready to order. Gone through the GTS post on here and the aggressive fitment sticky. I then post a question about what tire size to choose for them on another site (was a member before I owned a Z) and was told that setup would not work with a 295 tire no matter how much rolling I did.

Now I accepted the fact I was going to have to roll my fenders to get these to work but I'm running into a lot of opposition. I'd like to have a real nice tucked setup with a modest drop, maybe a nimso suspension. Is anyone, running an 18x11 that "fits"? I've seen the +18 offset and I would say it's extreme. And if you are running the setup I'm looking to get, what did you have to do to make it work? Stretch tires???

18x11 +25 (rear) and 18x10 +27 (front) will work just fine. Wont have to stretch the tires.

Not to say the other site is bad or anything but it seems like there's a lot more support on here. So what do you say about a 295/35 (rear) and a 275/35 (front)? Like I said I plan to roll if it's a problem but I won't be lowering it right away.

I would run a 255 in the front and a 275 in the rear. With those specs you posted you will have to roll the fenders I think.

I was thinking that too just because Falken doesn't make the 615 in a 295/35. I'm pretty hooked on that tire… But anyways, rolling isn't a big deal. I just want to make sure after I roll them they'll fit nicely. I'm thinking a 295 tire should clear the fender with the stock suspension with the OEM camber. There are guy running safe on the 10.5 setup on the RE30's with a very similar offset, granted the side walls will be let out that much more by the 11" wide. I just don't want to be stuck in a situation will they will rub after rolling the fenders.

Those will fit just fine. Only concern would be caliper clearance if you have Brembos or BBK, which depends on the disk.

RE30 19x11 +25

18x11 +25 shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, I've ran across the +18 setup in my searches. It's good to know it'll fit the stock suspension... I guess I can always look into some Nismo fender lips if it's past the fender and I want to tuck them. Want the wide tire more than anything.

This is somewhat agressive, but not really of a setup. You will be fine with a 295 with rolled fenders and a little neg camber. I run a 10.5 +15 rear with a 295. rolled fenders and my camber is within spec with a 1.7" to 2" drop.

Thats actually not stock suspension. I was running ZEAL Function V6 true rear coilovers on the TE37 setup.

I was refering to the black Z when I made the comment on the suspension. The Hipermax Z with the RE30's has a mean stance.

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

with a 295/35/18 with 18x11 with 25 offset same as a 275/40/18 on a 9.5" rim with a +5 offset

Cool. Sucks that I was getting some bad advice from a pretty someone who is usually a pretty reliable source on the other site. I'd link it but we don't need to go any further with it.

Yea, both cars are mine and it is actually the same car. The photo's of it when it was black was running a true rear coilover meaning it deleted the factory's independent spring/shock setup.

That person on the other site would be me.

Here is my setup.....

I have a 305 35/18 rear tire mounted on a 10" +30 wheel. My car is lowered approx 2" and the rear fenders are fully rolled flat. I have -2.5 negative camber in the rear which is even too much for the track. I will be going back to -2.0.

I run TOYO Proxes R888 tires and I have about 4-6mm of clearance as setup now. I will ahve to remove the 5mm spacer I have in there now and go to a +35 offset to take out some camber so they don't rub.

I had a 10" +25 offset before with a 295 tire before and it rubbed i nthe back with -1.5 camber.

Proxes R888 tires are wider than any street tire you will run. You had mentioned going to an R888 when your car is boosted.

So maybe my car is lower than most. And I run the widest brand of tires avaialble.

Use an offset calculator and do the math yourself. The setup won't work.

Pics.... Keep in mind this is a 10" +30.... then think what you would like to do. It's pretty evident it won't work. So if you don't plan on lowering your car this much, or running Proxes tires and having a large amount of negative camber killing your twin turbo grip then go for it.

That calculator is worthless. It doesn't take into account the overall tire width. Only the tread surface width,

Stretching the tires to get a rim to fit doesn't make it fit in my book. To each his own!
