Question Will this work?

Will a 19x9 hold a 285/35/19 tire with no problems?

from what Ive heard on here, what fits and what rides good are not always the same...

DTD would be the authority on this, but do you not think those sizes might cause some tracking issues and perhaps unwanted handling characteristics from the "squizzed" sidewall?

Well, don't know about your particular kind of rim, but I went with 19x10 and 275/35s. I would go with bigger rims, but that is just me.

I'm leaning heavily toward this set-up....

19x9 +24mm
19x10+28mm

245/35/19
285/35/19

There should be nothing wrong going this route.

Your fronts would actually be fine with 19x8s and 245/35s, that is what I am running in the front. Really, I wanted rims that where big enough to where if I wanted to go with bigger tires, I could. That is why I went with the 19x10s on the back.

Are you implying that 19x8 is a better way to go than the 19x9 in front? If so, why?

Also, If I went with a 19x8 +24mm in front, I would go with a 19x10 +36mm in the rear. I'm trying to keep the wheels as close to the same "plane" as possible as far as offsets are concerned (I don't like it when the rears stick out a lot farther than the fronts). This would still give me enough of a lip in front and in back for my tastes. This setup would push the wheels in the rear out 13mm more than the fronts. If I went with the +28mm in the rear, the rears would stick out 21mm more.

19x8 +24mm.....Front lip approx. 1 3/4"
19x10 +36mm...Rear lip approx. 2 3/4"

No, I am not saying that at all. Matter of fact, if I had it to do all over again, I would get some 19x9s to go on front. If you happen to go FI in the future, you might need all the tire you can get, lol.

You will find that you can be pretty fexible on the widths. As long as the rolling diameters are close to stock, and the offsets fit flush to the wheelwells, you can do whatever you want. If the rims you are choosing are totally custom and you can pick any offset you want, then you really have a lot of fexibility with your tire and rim widths.

I don't see FI in my future, and I'm not going wth a custom wheel so I'm at the mercy of the manufacturer. I've got a Silverstone Z and am thinking about the G-Games in Gunmetal.

Well, dude, in that case, you might need to talk to the manufactor or someone who has the rims. Guess I am just an idiot rambling about nothing. BTW, my $0.02, I would go with this one:

I would check on the fitment of 19x9s to the 245/35s, though.

A 245/35's rim width range is 8.0-9.5 according to toyo.com

9s in front might be considered over kill, maybe not. the car is rwd so the fronts only steer. so first decide what you do with your car, cause rims and tires are a huge source of drag. if your autocrossing or even daily driving, 9's are good. if your drag racing, they are gonna slow you down. you never want more tire than you absolutely need. at some point it becomes diminishing gains.

9 however I wouldnt say is overkill IMO. now like 13" rims on the back? thatd just be silly, no way in hell the Z could ever dream of breaking traction with them, so why strap down your car with them. of course not your problem as you want 9's and 10's.

however if your looking for 245s on front, no need to go larger than 8 or 8.5" if your gonna get a 9" rim may as well step up to a 255 tire, why get wider rims just to put the same size tires? backs I think 285s would look great on a fat 10" rim. and still stay inside the reasonable range for a stock Z.
