Default How to prevent scratches to your lug nuts?

Hey my350,

do you guys have an suggestions on what to do so when your installing your wheels/lug nuts to not scratch the finish of your expensive lug nuts ie: rays, work, ect...)?

I've heard of a socket that has a plastic liner so it doesn't scratch your lug but i can't seem to find them. Would wrapping them in painters tape work?

Thanks!

Try Snap On plastic liner socket for wheel lugs.

Always install and remove them by hand, then realize that chicks really won't look at the condition of your lugs, hell most won't even know if you have different wheels or not.

I'm sure you can find a solution for when you do it, but what about when you take the car to a shop or for inspection? I'm sure they arent going to be gentle with your lugs. I'd be more concerned with your wheels.

You're absolutely right, which is why I always take my car in for inspection during mid-march when I still have my winter wheels on.

This is a valid question. Some of those rays lugs are pretty damn expensive and are coated aluminum, which is very soft.

Haha, glad I'm not the only one that does that. I actually go in for inspection today.
