Default 19in front 20in rear?

Is it a bad idea to drive on this set?

Yeah that will look stupid, just do 19's all around. Plus getting tires sizes to maintain the proper ratio to keep the VDC happy (on non base cars) will be tricky. There are so many good 19" wheel choices, why even bother with a 20" rear.

Why not? Don't talk about it. Do it.

as long as your tire sizes are within spec you'll be alright.

245/35-19, 255/35-19 or 275/30-19 and even a couple others will work , with the standard 275/30-20 rear. I just pulled that off the top of my head without looking up the specs. Whats tricky about that???? Why bother posting stuff when you have no clue???

To the OP, go for it. If you do it right, it will have a clean look with equal sidewall height front and rear. BTW if i did it , i would do the 18/19 combo also mentioned.

It's very easy to make 18/19 work as well as 19/20 or 17/18 for that matter, if he so chooses to.

Yeah as long as the tire is the correct height you should not have a problem.

thanks smart ***

Most people don't know very much about tire sizes for a staggered setup let alone a car with a F/R ratio that must be maintained. If he is not very wise he could end up buying tires that are wrong. If you are well informed, nothing is tricky. How many guys bought 275/30/19 tires for their cars only to find out they needed 35 profile and their VDC is going nuts? They were sold 30's because they are plentiful and cheaper. That the "tricky" I'm referring to.

Nothing is tricky if you know "exactly" what you are looking for and a well informed consumer. Somebody creating a post asking if 19/20's would work doesn't sound like a very informed consumer so getting exactly the right tires in his case (and some tire guy who doesn't know the 350z well) is gonna be "tricky".

Thanks for the "no clue" comment, your attitude sucks and your assumption speaks for itself.

The diameter stagger on the wheels makes the profile of the tire more even front to back. The larger diameter usually necessitated by the rear wheel/tire, usually means the actual amount of sidewall exposed on the rear tire is greater than the front. A lot of these cars with the same size rim all the way around, tend to make the rear rim "look" smaller than the front even when the same size.

The diameter of the rear wheel/tire combo is approximately 1in larger than the front. The 1in stagger on the rim diameter would make the wheel/tires look more even from front to back. The 06+ GT wheels do this.

I understand what you're saying, here, but I love my 275/30/19s Especially true for a few local autox guys since the RE01Rs only come in this aspect ratio for a 275.

I've done it! With a set of Volk GT-7 19x9.5 front & 20x10.5 rear. It was the best setup I ever had. It fix perfect on my G35. Shouldn't have sold it!

Lol, i have 275/30 rears, but only cause i got the tires for next to nothing so i took em. I have a auto so no VDC, though. But it still drives my TCS nuts.

in my opinion its the best combination. The Z has fat rear fenders and a 20" wheel looks good on the back, but 20 in front looks not as good. I have 19" front and 20" rear and my car looks perfect in my eyes. Gives it an exotic stance and look. I'm running 245's front, and 285's rear, and i compensated with the tire sidewall size to make the wheels still had the correct diameter/ratio.
