Default Rare/Unique Wheels You Think Will Look Nice on a Z

EDIT: Scope of thread expanded to include any Rare/Unique wheel.

I'm not exactly ready to purchase wheels for my Z quite yet, but I started saving, and figured I would make a list of wheels to consider when the time comes.

I guess the purpose of this thread is to ask you all if you can think of a wheel that you have rarely seen on a Z, or have always thought would look good on one, but no one has run it before, or just a rare wheel, in general.

I'm not bashing those with Volks, Works, etc. because there's a reason they are popular for those looking for both looks and quality, but I just want to have at least one thing on my car that is very unique.

General specs I had in mind for fitment:

- I'd rather not do a fender roll
- Leaning toward 18" diameter
- About a +20 offset all around
- Thinking about 9.5" all around
- Want to do 275s in the rear, 265s front

These are just general specs. If you have something in mind, just post it, and I'll figure out if it'll work

Looking forward to what you all come up with.

if you are looking for a unique set up I don't think any 5 spoke set up is the way to go. 5 spoke is the norm.

Well yes, I agree. Regardless, I think it's a very clean look. I'm just trying to see if there is a unique style of 5-spoke or brand out there.

Actually, I'll just change the thread from 5-Spokes only, to any wheel style. A 7 spoke, or mesh wheel may spark my interest for all I know.

your spec reminds me of rota p45r. p45r has everything that you need. but yes, it is not a UNIQUE wheel or a quality wheel compared to volks, works

Agreed. Pretty much most of the Rota wheels have the specs I am looking for. But, even if I have to use spacers to get a decent offset, I'd rather get something more unique. Even if I have to import it.

Find a way to make these 5 spokes work. Rears are 19"x10.5", fronts are 19"x8.5", with 295/30 and 245/35 Michelin PS2s. Wow:

how about a set of these, and getting them refinished, good luck tho, cause i've been looking for a set the past year, no luck, even on the Australian Skyline Forums...

NISMO LM-GT2 3 piece wheels, back when the nismo wheels were better.

Thanks for the contribution. I haven't heard of Bee-R before. I do like what I see. Very similar to the Nismo, so I'm sure the wait/price in order to acquire some wouldn't make much sense. Now Gulflame is a style of Greddy wheels?

I always search before posting. I searched "rare" as a title in the wheel/tire section and didn't find any thread like this. I've learned over the years that there are a ton of over-discussed topics on this forum. I thought this would be a fun thread for reference if it gets some picture content.

CCW makes a real similar wheel and will build it to your offset.... Cheaper than HRE too.

Thanks, Wheelman. I'm taking a look at their website now. I've seen the classics before, and they look like good quality. How does their build process compare with its competitors?

greddy was the US gulfflame dist. based on my memory...
my point was that all of us are here to better ourselves/vehicles,
and the topic of unique wheels is one that gets rehashed regularly.

if you really want something no one else has... you'll need to pony
up $3k+ without tires.

frankly, the wheels that I mentioned would require extraordinary
effort to obtain... perhaps a trip to the island is in order.

Truly.

Even though I am looking for someone off the beat and path, I would get tired of worrying about damaging my wheels if they carried a price tag that high. We shall see..

Hm, well if I'm in love with a certain style of wheel, I guess I would save up to get it. If I am spending anything over $500 on something, I'm going to want to love it from the get-go, not learn to live with it. I think on the high end I'd be willing to be in the $2500 range without tires. Realistically, I'd like to do $2000 w/out tires. I think that puts me in the market for Enkeis or a comparable brand. Another option is to look for used high-end wheels in the price range I am considering.

I knew some of the wheels presented in this thread would be incredibly rare and expensive, but I am just curious as to what is out there style-wise, besides what I see at the majority of car shows and pictures of Zs online. That's all.

If I was gonna buy some mid-level rims and wanted something that looks good and not many people have , I would most certainly get these:
I do think they would not look so good in an 18 though.
The 19's are sweet.

You can probably pick a set up for 1200 - 1300 shipped.

the only set of wheels you might find at 500 are stockers.

the wheels above this post are sick for the cost.. would love a set
