Default For those running Enkei RP-F1 18x9.5/10.5 +15

What is your tire sizing and, if you are lowered, what is your setup?

I'm lowered on Hotchkis coils, and do not want to roll my fenders. I see that the 10.5" +15 Enkei for the rear is pretty standard, but I like the look of a 275/40, and I'm really thinking it will rub.

I guess the question is whether I should step down to a 18x9.5 +15 in order to run a 275/40 if there is a risk of rubbing with the 10.5" wheel.

I guess for the heck of it, what looks better in your opinion? Wider wheel, smaller sidewall, or narrower wheel, taller sidewall?

I have those same sizes and used to run a 275/40 on the rear. My car was dumped but could not get the camber aligned because it would have rubbed. Now im running a 265 35 and was able to get the camber from -3 to -1.5

I wonder if my 3/4" drop will allow a 40 sidewalk. In for pics if you have them hwood.

im running 245/40/18 and 265/35/18 I like the slightly stretched look. I will prob go with a meatier sidewall for the rear next time though.

275/40 is a bit meaty, but will work. Some tire brands have higher side walls like Michelin's SP2 are crazy tall for a 40 series. I would run a 35 on 275 or 40 on a 265 if your drop is really low.

Read op. That's where I'm headed. But, I'm just curious if someone has the 10.5 275/40 setup with a one inch or less drop.

I think you need to roll the rears no matter what. but I could be wrong. all the guys I know running those wheels did.

there is no reason not to roll.

It's one of those situations where I'd just rather not have to. The only pressure I'm okay with putting on my paint is from a microfiber and my hand. I called around to a few places and it didn't sit well with me when they said they assume no liability against damage.

You need a roll to run the proper size tires

I've read that thread before.

Terrasmak says it will rub when three others say it won't.

I know it is 3:1, but it's not like I'm buying a license plate frame here. If I'm going to invest in the wheels, I want to make sure I getting the proper fit.

I think I've asked someone this before, but does the added width of a wheel (1" larger from the 9.5 to the 10.5, in this case) contribute to how far the outer edge of the wheel protrudes? Using this example, will a 9.5" +15 even give me added ability to run a larger tire than a 10.5" +15 if offset is, in fact, the only thing that determines how the wheel sits relative to the fender?

width is split 50/50 from centerline. Use this to compare and you will get what I'm saying:

That tool is very helpful.

You can take the specs from your current wheel and the specs from the wheels you want to buy, and it will calculate exactly how many MM it will change on both the inside and outside of the rim. It doesn't get much easier than that, just go out to your car and measure.

I wonder what I could run for sizing in the front and get away with it.

This guy has 275/35s in front, but I don't get how it doesn't rub. He says he has 275/35s rear, as well, with no rubbing. Stuff like this is what confuses me. Just by looking at the pics it seems like rubbing will occur without a doubt. Ugh...

I understand what your saying but like I said it depends on the exact tire until you find someone who has the same exact setup you are interested in [same wheels (brand, model, sizes, offsets), same springs, same tires (brand, model, sizes)] you will not get a definitive answer.
