Default G35 19" Rays on 350z. Tire Questions?

Hi, I have a 2003 350z, and always wanted to run the forged G35 wheels. I noticed a few people have run these on the 350z with no apparent problems, but I feel unsure regarding the OEM tire sizes.

I have been trying to research what tires would work on these wheels on a 350z, without much success. (the G35 recommended tire size for the rear is 1.9% off comparing to the OEM 17" wheel/tire using a tire size calculator)

I am really close to ordering tires, but just would like to make sure I am not making any mistakes. I have been looking into getting 245/40/19's for the front, and 255/35/19's for the rear. Would this setup pose any problems? With the wheels being 8.0" and 8.5" wide, I really don't want to get too wide, just keep it staggered, and keep the speedometer close.

For those with these particular wheels on their 350z; What size tires do you run?

Thanks in advance

the wheel is the same size whether it's on a Z or a G..

tire will fit the wheel not the car..

just use OEM tire sizes

Welcome. Front tires are taller than rear. Back to the drawing board for you.

Oops.. sorry, I have been looking at so many sizes / combinations, I meant 245/35/19 for the front, which overall wheel/tire circumference is very close to my existing front OEM 225/50/17's.

One thing I would kind of like as well would be a little more width just for some added protection for the wheel lip (I noticed with those rays, the OEM tire size doesn't give much of a flush (to the wheel) appearance)

225/40 front and 245/40 rear are the OEM fitments. 245/35 front and 245/40 rear would be a great fitment.

If you wanted a little more width, you can consider 245/35 front and 265/35 rear. I looked at a G (to buy) a few days ago, and he had 245/35 - 275/35 on the stocked forged 05'+ wheels, and I was surprised that it didn't bulge (Falken 452 tires). I think the 275 is too large for an 8.5" (rear) wheel, but it didn't look out of place.

If you're on a tire budget you could consider shopping on Craigslist, Ebay, or other for 235/35/19 fronts and 265/35/19 rears from Porsche take-offs. I pick these up quite often from a few local shops to sell to you guys since they are typically nearly-new and are Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, which kick absolute a*s.

I think I may have been confusing things a little; I was comparing tire/wheel circumference in comparison to the factory 17" wheels that come on the 350z base/enthusiast models.

I picked up the G35 wheels a while back, but have been holding out on tires because I wasn't expecting such a difference in price over 18" tires

Thanks for the advise on these, I probably will go a little wider for the fronts then, still not entirely sure about the rears. I have noticed people mentioning 275mm tires on the rears, but that just sounds dangerous. I wasn't sure regarding the 265mm, mainly because the newer 350z track wheels are 10" and run that width.

I'll definitely try calling some of the tire shops and see if there are any take offs available. The price has been the one thing really keeping me from getting these going. What I was considering were Kumho Ecsta SPT's from tirerack, however I am still just looking. I would like to get some Pilots, (what I have on my 17" OEM 350z wheels now), but the price new is ungodly.

If you want to play you may to pay.

I see no benefit going from a 17 inch wheel to a 19 inch wheel with cheap ***** tires. But that's just me.

The benefit is that I need new tires, and since I own g35 forged wheels, I would like to change over. I don't autocross, this is just a daily driver. From what I've read, a lot of people seemed to like the Kumho's for the price. Sorry to offend.
