Would going from 18x8 all around to, say... 17x8.5 / 17x9.5 be a loss of performance? Im dont give a damn about looks, I drive my car passionately, auto-x it and go to track days. The reason I dont go wider 18s is because of the price of the tires, I want a size were its not to expensive to replace tires 2 to 3 times a year. Has anyone done this, or seen this done? Please reply if you know what you are talking about, I dont want opinions I want facts.
8.0 inches to 9.5 inches? I assume that would be 245 vs 275 mm tire? A superior 245 mm tire will outperform a poor 275 mm tire. So you get nothing with an addition 30 mm. That’s a fact!
