Did you transfer the TPS to the 17s?

You can swap the Tire Pressure Sensors from your 18" wheels to your 17" winter wheels, or you can get a second set of TPSs and install them on your winter wheels. If you take the second option, then everytime you swap wheels, you need to go to your friendly Nissan dealer and have him "initialize" your car computer to 'recognize' the 'new' TPS codes. (I took the second option for my two sets of wheels with summer and winter rubber.)

Can 2 sets of 4 be initialized for 1 car?

The TPSs are standard equipment on Track, Touring and Performance model US-spec Zs. See the attached photo for what they look like uninstalled. You can recognize if your car has them or not by the metal-stemmed tire valve.

Yes,, whenever you change out tires (i.e. - sensors), the car computer must be reinitialized to recognize the new sensor coded signals. Each set of four sensors must be initialized whenever they are installed on the car - otherwise you get a display of just dashes.

A set of TPSs (4) go for around $1200 from your friendly Nissan dealer

I got my set from a forum poster second hand for considerably less. Search and ask around.
HTH.
