A good place to start is right here. There are several Vendors on my350z.com that can help you select the best tires for your budget, handling and ride preferences, etc.).

for an inexpensive all season tire, the 912's are hard to beat. i have them on my volvo sedan. i personally wouldn't get the nitto invo's or vredesteins. t1r's will be nice but will be more expensive and will probably wear faster than the 912.

I had these before, loved them. Great all season tire and a great price for them too!

All-season tires are a good compromise, but that depends upon the climate where you live and drive the car. My experience with this type of tire is that it wears well, but that’s its only advantage.

I’m in Minnesota where you really need studless snow tires in the winter on a rear-wheel drive car (e.g., the Z) in snow and on ice. All-season tires work OK on my Jeep, but are useless on the Z in the winter.

For summer driving, all-seasons are OK, but not even close to the great driving and grip you get with summer-performance tires. The difference is especially obvious when driving on the wet and in rain, but you also notice a significant difference on dry roadways as well.

I mention these considerations since the OP is in NJ.

I use the ZE-912's... Great tire, IMO. Great all-season performance, for a very affordable price... In NC, it doesn't get cold very often, so I can get away with running Summer tires, but I wanted a tire that lasted longer. Plus the treadlife warranty on the 912's are nice too...

Considering the issue our cars have with the inside front feathering issues, how is this tire in the noise dept?

I somewhat agree to that. Personally I like hankook and toyo for bang for the buck.
