Looking for QUIET, long lasting tire
my goal right now is a long lasting QUIET tire, with performance being up in my wish list, but second to the quiet and longevity factor. I looked around a little bit and saw the Michelin ones had great reviews but were waaaaaaaaaay outa my price range. Price is also important to me. In order from most important to least: (2-3 are very close)
1) quietness
2) price
3) longevity
4) performance
1) quietness
2) price
3) longevity
4) performance

I just got Falken 452's, and they were relatively cheap, and quiet I guess (I don't think I have ever had a loud tire?)... As far as the longevity criteria, only time will tell...

Summer-performance tires wear quickly and most are noisy.
If you want a tire with a more comfortable ride and better economy, and your main requirement is street driving; you should consider an all-season tire. An all-season tire isn’t appropriate for the track, but it’s a good choice for the street if you want a tire that costs less, and runs longer and more quietly.

I was running the potenza RE960 Pole positions for the past two years. They treated me very well, had no problems in cold temps 30-40F or high temps 90-100F, rain or shine. I even tracked them a few times, got a couple 2.0 60' out of them.

www.tirerack.com and do your own research. You didn't even list your priorities in the right order. How is anyone else going to help you?

I just got a pair of General Exclaim UHP tires from tirerack and they definitely meet criteria 1&2. I haven't had them long enough to personally comment on their longevity, but they are rated extremely well in that area.
I will not hesitate to get these tires again. They are comfortable and for everyday driving they compliment the performance of the car well.
