Default Confused About Offsets

Ok i read the FAQ but still have some confusion over proper offsets for wheels on a Z.

Can someone educate me on the optimal offset for the following:

18x7.5 wheels
18x8.5 wheels
18x9.5 wheels

If the offset number is higher that means that the wheel will be further tucked in?

What is your goal with the wheels? Is there a certain look that you are trying to achieve? Are you looking for stock like fitment or something more aggressive? What model do own?

I have an enthusiast with the 17" nissan wheels that I'm not too happy about.

I want an upgrade to something near a stock fitment, perhaps a little more agressive but nothing to pricey (<2500 w/tires)

Ok I think I'm gonna most likely go with the Privat Farhen. Where are these made? Not much info on Privat on the net. Do I need anything additional? Special screws, etc?

Nismo shows 18x8.5+25 and 18x9.5+30

Privat is a independant and higher end line owned by Konig. These wheels were made for distribution in Europe for high end european and japanese tuner vehicles. The wheels do require a small diameter tuner style lug, but thats all.
