Help choosing good looking wheels for my Z
Hello All,
I just got my Z about a week ago and I want to go ahead and replace the 17 inch enthusiast wheels with some really flashy, unique rims because I just bought brand new F1 tires that fit 17 inch. I really like the Volks but they are not in my price range. I have read a ton of post on here about wheel offset and size and I think that I would like to stay with 17 inch wheels unless I can get a wheel/tire package deal for under 1000.00 that are really eye catching. Please help me choose a wheel with a good offset that will stick out a bit. I have a Silver 2003 Nissan 350z Enthusiast with only 60000 miles on it. I love it and will from now on be loyal to nissan. I will post a picture of my Z shortly. Please let me know your opinions, I am new to the Z world and need your guidance. Thanks

If your budget is $1000, I would say stick with the stock rims for now. You could improve the stance by buying some spacers in the short term while you save up some money.

only person that can choose wheels for your car is you. if you can not look at a wheel and decide if you like it or not then you are best to stick with the OEM wheels until you can decide.
as for the tires, maybe you should have saved the money, bought wheels first, then got those "nice F1 tires" for the new wheels.

perhaps take a hit on the tires and sell them, then try to scrape enough money together to get tires to fit whatever wheels you want to get.

If you bought the tires before the wheels, I guess you are kind of limited in your purchase... Rotas might do it for you.

I suggest checking your local craigslist, and the private sellers section. find a nicely taken care of set of used wheels/tires, otherwise you are going to be buying a cheap setup.
the deals can be had. I bought my wheels from a local Z owner that bought nismo lgmt4's and had these laying around afterwards. 19x8/19x9.5 tsw mondellos w/ 245 35 / 285 30 toyo t1r's for 600 bucks. the offset was right around stock offset, so I had to invest another 200$ in spacers, but still under your 1k budget. I think the retail cost for the setup I scored would be a little under 2000$. you can find even better deals on the higher end setups.
as far as offsets go, stock offset is right around +30mm, most folks put on 20-25mm spacers to make them flush with the fendors. that gives you an idea of what offset you should look for. spacers can solve appearence issues, but +in the teens usually looks pretty decent without them.

really? my setup was 600$, +200$ for some spacers, so 800$ total. to reiterate, 19x8/19x9.5 tsw mondellos w/ 245 35 / 285 30 toyo t1r's. tread life was probably 90% fronts and 65%/70% rears when I picked em up too.
are they volks/works/lgmt4's etc? not even close. but they look good, much better then the 17" stockers we were cursed with. the 06+ stock wheels look good, but the earlier year lower trim models came with some ugly wheels and not everyone wants to drop a lot of money to replace them.
the deals are out there, and you can probably find something better then I found for 1000$ even, I see lots of nice used deals in the private seller forums. even seen some curbed volks that you could get repaired etc.
