G35 Wheels - Any good? Same size as the Z?
I noticed that the G35s have some nice looking 18 inch rims. (well, I like em).
Does anyone know if these are the same sizes as the 350Z 18inch rims? Same offsets?
I am thinking they might look sweet on a Z since they sort of look factory, but they are rare on Zs.
I am interested in 18 inch wheels, but I just can't bring myself to pay thouasands of $ for wheels at this point. I am guessing I can get the G35 rims at a reasonable price since they are stockers and some G35 guys are probably upgrading.
(If they won't fit I will be looking for Ray's Track rims at some point)

The wheel are quite heavy compared to the Track pack Z wheels.
I am getting a set of Volks because of the weight. TO my knowledge (from what I heard from other G35 owners) the Volk GTCs in 18x9 are lighter than stock G wheels by 5 LBS and we all know that the GTC are not exactly light I cant confirms this though.
How my are the G wheels worth used? I might be selling mine in the winter.

I am not planning on racing my Z Roadster. It is mostly for "spirited driving" and whatnot.
So... my attitude is that if I can get wheels that weigh the same or less than my stock 17 inch wheels I will call it even. I mostly want the wheels as an appearance improvement and to differentiate my Z a little. I don't want wheels much heavier than stock, but I am not looking to save a bunch of weight.
I am not actually buying wheels until I have the car since there is a chance the dealer will be able to upgrade my wheels at a decent price with some takoffs. But if I get it with the stock 17s I might be interested in G35 18 inchers.
It will partly depend on if I can get a good deal on a set of Ray's stock 18 inchers.

Only G35 6-MTs get the Brembos. The 6-MTs have the 18x8.0" wheels with Pilot Sports standard. On the auto models the 17"s are standard, but there is a "Performance Wheel and Tire Package" option that upgrades them to the same wheels and tires as the 6-MTs. The wheel/tire package does not include an upgrade for the brakes. This makes it very easy to see if a coupe is an auto or 6-MT: just look at the brakes.
If I knew about this earlier, I could have weighed a wheel today. We just swapped my front 225/45's for 245/40's and there was a scale right there. I do want to mention that they aren't as heavy as they look though. The spokes are actually hollow. If you feel behind them they are concave in the back of the spokes. Also, the inner part of the rim(behind the spokes) is painted black.

Hopefully you get yours before I am in the market so we won't be bidding against each other.
Although at those prices I am tempted to go with the Ray's Track rims. Decisions....decisions....

G35 Wheels for sale soon
As we're on the subject.. I'll have a set of 18" G35 wheels/tires for sale in about 3-4 weeks. I'll also be selling mine for less then the going Ebay rate because my rims have 22K miles on them. They are in excellent condition (no curbing).
Anyways, just keep that in mind.. If you're interested or you want pics PM me.

I see that the forged track wheels with tires run around $1500 a set. (lightly used)
Can you really do better than that for forged wheels with tires? (or for not much more?) If so, can you post some links or details?
Thanks.
