from the top of my tire to the fender is 1.75 inches

sportlines should get me pretty low.

any pics of people with 285/35/19 on sportlines?

I dont have pics for you, but I couldnt stand the way 255/285s looked on my car. It simply sat too high and made the wheels look enormous. I have also seen 245/275 on sportlines, along with side skirts and lip..now that looks just right for a spring setup.

Other alternative: 275/30 & 295/30, spring mount mod in rear, if you wont do coilovers. Still looks fairly low even with stock body.

Default so many things to consider!

Hey guys, looking for some opinions.
Here is my current setup:

18x9.0 +27 (+32 w/ 5mm spacer) 265/40-18
18x9.5 +22 275/40-18
Rear fenders are rolled w/ a slight pull, front are just the stock roll, and no pull I believe.

So, as you can see, I have some room to bring everything out a bit farther. Also I'm already on a mild drop, but I couldn't tell you what, because I bought the car with these springs. Look like hotchkis but not really sure. Anyway, I'll be upgrading to coilovers (KW V3/clubsport or something similar) and a BBK as well. I'm looking to go fatter on the tires, as close to a square setup as possible. Right now I'm thinking either 285/35 Front and 285/40 or 295/35 Rear. I don't know if I want to keep these wheels, or move the rears up front, and get more 9.5s for the back, or go up to a 10 or 10.5. Basically what I want (in this order) is :

1. Good performance for street and track. (as close to square as possible)
2. A nice, fat, mean look (rears should have something meatier than the front about them, and I need some width because of FI plans soon.)
3. Relatively mild drop (live in Hawaii with horrible roads)

If possible, I'd like to not buy more SSR type Fs and wait 3 months, but I could if I had to (deployed right now). Right now I'm considering 18x9.5 all around (+22 w/ 5mm spacers all around), 18x10 or 10.5 rears, or just cramming a 285/35 on the 9" and a 295/35 on the 9.5", getting more spacers and calling it a day. All opinions are welcome, and I hope I've made it clear what my desires and goals are. Thanks in advance for your input.

Question Widened wheel and tire fitment

Iv contacted James at weldcraft and he said he can widen my XXR 521 18x10 +25 rear wheels to 18x12.5 +25
I want to do this so I can run a MT ET Streets 345-30-18 in the rear. I'm dropped on only tein s techs with rolled fenders never had an issue with my current setup which is the 18x10 +25 on falken Azenis k series 315-30-18.
Will I have any issues doing this? Will the wheels fit being that wide? If anyone has any experience in this please email me at getmoney805@yahoo.com
Thank you guys, Jared

To answer your question, I don't think you can fit 345 on a stock body without modding the fender. I believe couple of forum members have pulled it out, so your bet is to search and ask how they did it.

No way with the stock fenders. Take out some camber and run the 315, no need for more, really.

There's only 315mm of clearence between my Tein Flex shock body and edge of my rolled fenders. My 19/305/30 tire meets my shock body right at the spring collar. To fit my 305 between the spring collar and the fender I had to grind the tire side of the shock collar flat.

Not sure what shocks your running but my guess is not matter the wheel size or offset you won't be able to fit 345mm of tire between your shock and the inside of even a rolled and pulled fender.

What kinda power are you putting down with those rears. I thought about that with my wheels. If you dont mind what's average $$ for something like that from weld craft?

I will check the wheel forum to see what others have done with 12.5 inch wheels. Do you any other homework for me?

Was that question for me? If so, I'm going for a road-course worthy setup, but honestly, I live in Hawaii right now, with no track. All I can do is AutoX, so I guess realistically a good AutoX setup is what I should get. I'd rather set the car up for road course, but I don't know how long I'll be in Hawaii. Either way going for a road course geared set-up. Planning on vortech, brake upgrade, and coilovers in the very near future. Everything else is already done as far as upgrades.

To summarize...road course with a side of looks and AutoX

The car is on a 145 shot of nitrous, stock block, full bolt ons and a tune... I'm making a little of 400rwhp and 400rwtq and i cant spray till i hit second gear because traction is non existent in first on the bottle. I wanted the extreme wheel/fitment for looks and for a decent street setup. The Azenis K series are a horrible drag tire but im sure you guys all know that so i wanted to switch to the MT ET Streets. I was quoted $235.00 a wheel from James. I'm not paying for either the widening of the wheels or the tires. I'm getting everything done for free thats another reason why i wanted to do this.

Right. ANYWAY, I think a good look for my car will be to move my 18x9.5 +22s up front and put a 275/35 on em. I'll buy 2 18x10.5 +25s, and get some 295/35s for those. Probably Nitto NT05s. I think this setup will make me more than happy for general/street use, and if and when I get somewhere with a track, I can just get a set of wheels for a square track setup with stickier tires. I really want moton clubsports, and I think a mild lowering(1" or less) will work well with this whole setup. I can have 2 sets of springs for the motons, one street, one track. Not to mention the requisite quality suspension components for adjusting toe and camber and whatnot. I like the look I have now, but I think some wider tires would perfect it a bit more.

Thread cleaned up.

Keep it on topic, this should be for questions and examples of wheel/tire setups not a pissing match about drag racing.
