Solid advice, I plan to run a smaller width tire when I move down to an 18" wheel. Was going to run this street driven on my LE37's as my kdws are almost boogered. Are you suggesting something like a 295 or square 305?
Also any recent pictures of your car? i havent seen anything since the ppe thread.
Screwed up my post and updated it. But as I was mentioning, you could easily run a 285/35 rear or something close in a much stickier tire for the same or better traction of a 305 V12.
There have been a few pics posted, mostly aero work. Now the car just sits till I move back to Las Vegas in November. I also smoked the motor is Oct before I left.
Dude I wouldn't even put fake wheels on a Honda. I'd like to know that going over a bump is not resulting in the wheel shattering and me hitting something or someone. You might say it's a small number of people, they were going too fast, manufacture reissued better wheels, blah blah blah. Bottom line is I'd trust a wheel that is certified and passed testing standards, there might be a lemon in the bunch but the chances there are much lower than the chances on knock off wheels.
Wheels really only shatter in a crash situation or in racing situations. I bought a set of those no name knock off bbs style wheels that you see on eBay. Got them from a junk yard for 50 bucks and threw them on my old impreza that I took out into fields and played with. After jumps and hitting rocks and all, nothing ever happened. If you don't have super stretched tires or super skinny (like 30 series), any wheel will be fine for everyday driving. If you have a tire that can take the impact like it's designed to do, it is highly unlikely that any wheel will bend or crack.
LMAO JGC not to be mean but no you cant play. THis forum doesnt have a thread for rims and tires like that. Maybe try a 4x4 forum. Sidenote that Cobra better be fcking fast bc DAYYUUMMM
You just need the right equipment first. Time to get rid of the skinny fronts if you want to play with the big boys.
Yeah ima change them later on and put the 19x10's in the front and get 19x11's for the back.
Thanks for not being an arrogant **** like other people on here

Think if you read the thread title before posting, you wouldn't get responses from said "arrogant" people.

So I am thinking about getting larger tires, but is there any performance upgrade to them? Right now I have 225/245 stock size, and if i move a few sizes up (265/285), will i notice anything? I assume those larger tires way more, so wouldnt they actually make the car slower?

You'll need larger wheels for tires that size. Yes, you'll technically be slower going straight because the tires are heavier, but you can offset that weight with a lighter-weight wheel.
lol. I am moving from my very solid all-season Eagle GTs to summer Michelin Pilot Super Sports, from 225/245 to 265/285, and then I am ditching my Touring V2s for Enkei RFP1s.
