Default WoW confused

I just read the sticky of how to maintain your rays wheels..

damn so worried now lol

usually i just wash with water and car wash soap and rinnse.. that is what i have been doin with my stock ones

BUT

my new VOLK TE37 BRONZ came yesterday in the mail!!! yay!

before i mount them.. should i apply wheel wax to them?
is it safe for the matte finish? and safe to apply to the inside barrael too?

thanks!

oh.. seems like many people used maguirs quick detail.. is that okay to use on the te37 as well?

im just asking cause the bronz te37 is a matte finish.

they are wheels. they will see dirt/mud/rain/rocks/crap/oil/brake dust/squirrels/etc.. it is not a delicate Vase from the Ming Dynasty.

yes. you can use quick detail. yes you can wax it if you want. yes on the matte finish. just stay away from the strong wheel cleaners with abrassive chemicals. your regular soap and water is fine to get the majority of the dust off.

Does instant detailed work like a wax? Hmm I did just buy this wheel wax for 15$ lol it's not to bad to take the wheel wax off the polish area. Just the matte surface of the rims. Which is almost the whole rim on the te37 bronze lol I guess I will use the maguairs quick detailed for Inbetweeen touch ups

Yes it'll work fine, although its your new expensive wheels I think you are overly paranoid.

This one doesn't have wax agents in it:

but this one does:

lo i used DAWN dish soap that all the time to remove the heavy brake dusts from OEM pads at car wash time.. Afterward, I used the Meguair Quick detailer to make it shine. Sometimes when I'm lazy or about to go on a date, I just use the Quick Detailer to clean all the brake dust and make the lips shine! Works great and no problem so far!!

You degrade any clear coat or wax on the paint when you do so. Heavy brake dust, unless it's actual corrosion from race pad dust when combined with moisture, is easily removed with any slew of the car wash products. You said OEM pads, so there shouldn't be any corrosion. The QuickDetail is fine as well - I do that too for quick shine-ups.

You never used any water - just the wax?
If so, it sounds like the wax product reacted with the lip. Ultimate detailer has wax in it as well.

I did spray some water on to get the wax off. People said to spray a little water to get a better shine. Maybe it's from the water I sprayed. But damn these wheels are sensative lol am I suppose to wipe there down after I drive I. The rain haha

You live in lynwood washington and you're worrying about your Volks in the rain. I know how you feel. I have the GTS with the polished lips with anodized clear but they eventually will show wear and tear. If your really worried just keep them in your house and put them on only in the summer. You have the face the facts that dirt, brake dust and all the things out in the world are out to get your car but that's normal and if you don't like it just park your car in the garage and stare at it.

I hate it too but we can clean dirt and when it comes time to retire your wheels you get a new set. I would run stock wheels in the winter time if your Z is a DD and welcome to the Volk club.

Sounds like you didn't dry it well after spraying it with water. Just an FYI - water will not remove wax. You should wash, dry, then wax them.
