is it OK to use a 275/30/19 tire in the back with a 245/35/19 in the front ?
My wife had a bad flat on one of her rear 275/35/19 tires and we have a pair of new 275/30/19's. I am trying to trade them for the right size (https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-tire...5-30-19-a.html) but have no takers. Is it OK to install them ? (they are almost a full inch shorter in diameter than the 275/35/19)

I don't think she would appreciate 275's in the front !
Won't anyone be interested in the new 275/30/19's I have since I can't trade them for 275/35's ?

"will work" is different than fussing with the VDC. It will fuss with the VDC. My wife complains about it from time-to-time just taking off ramps at a mellow speed because of the small difference the fronts (265/35/19) are taller than the rears (305/30/19).
It's my wife's car; no tracking just commuting.

You don’t have VDC on your model, but you do have TCS.
In fact just TCS may have a problem with this setup (as David mentions, your front tires are taller than the rear tires, and TCS doesn’t operate correctly with this setup).
Here is what can happen in this case (front tires taller than rear tires, running with TCS): Under hard acceleration, TCS will activate and you get a minor, but continual and intermittent hesitation. So if your wife is merging into fast traffic and presses hard on the accelerator, she will notice some hesitation and power loss.

It will cause problems with TCS, it does on mine. Youll get the slip light on hard corners all day long...
That being said, i just turn off the TCS...no problem. I like having a smaller circumf. tire in the rear because many ppl dont know this, but having smaller tires in the rear than stock on a RWD car will change your gears. I was told this by a guy that works on a Corvette racing team, so i believe it and it makes sense when you think about it.
I could actually feel the difference once i did it.
