Anyone with 255/35/19 on Fronts?
I will be getting some LE37Ts soon, 19X8.5 +22f 19X9.5 +22r, and was trying to decide which size tires to go with. I will be doing Toyo T1-S and was thinking 255/35/19f and 275/35/19r, but see that most people are doing 245/35/19f. Is there a reason to go 245 over 255? I wanted to reduce the width difference as much as possible between the front and rear without getting too wide on the front. Does this make sense to do?

The show car for HRE had 275/19 ft and 295/19 rears. I wanted to go 18's so I went 285/35-15 ft and 295/35-18 rears. They work great, no rubbing on both of these set ups with proper offset. Most people suggest you keep the rears larger including Nismo (30mm larger rears). Check out the pic of show car with 19" below....

Does having the wider tire up front cause any issues with handling or increase the stiffness in the steering too much? I just want a nice balance with the front and rear tires. Since I plan on going 275/35/19 in the rear I wasn't sure what the best balance up front would be but thought 255 would work nicely.

Most people that go 275 rears are going 245 fts and that is exactly what Nissan-NISMO S Suspension reccommends. You could go 255 fts too with good results.
I experience no negatives as far as heavy steering with my 265's.
The larger rear tires encourages understeer (pushing the front around a corner). If you decreased the ft to rear ratio, it would reduce that effect. Have you pushed your Z yet to see if you want to change the amount of understeer?

I currently have the stock 17" setup and will be getting my LE37Ts soon. I need to order the tires and want to get the right ones from the start since they are pretty pricey. I was just thinking that keeping the ratio close would be best to keep the rears from over powering the fronts as you mentioned. The only thing I was not sure of was why everyone has gone with a 245/275, but you mentioned the reason. I think I will end up with the 255/275 combo unless someone gives me a good reason not too.

I think if you want several experienced opinions, you need to post the same type thread but in the title also state something like "for people that have tracked their Z only". This would give you opinions of people that have tracked their Z thus actually pushed it on a track to the edge of the performance envelope.
Most Z owners have not done that (me included) thus how could they know personally know/experience the difference between the oversteer created by smaller ft tires.
Like most people, I know what Nissan did, others that have tracked their Z's have done, but I have not driven my Z with my stock 225/235 set up, then on the same day, try out my 265/295 tires on a track. My guess is thereares only several people that have taken their Z's to a track and tried several different tire sizes. These people would be the most helpful in you getting real life experience.

I was hoping to capture some of the guys out on the track to get their opinion and should have titled the thread different, but oh well. I know that not everyone is out on the track but most do like to play on the streets, at least I do, and may have some input. I think the main thing is that going from stock to 245/275 or 255/275 should be a great improvement either way. I can't wait until I have them on the car!! Being in Iowa, I am only one of a few Zs that I know of here that are on the road, and I think the only Lemans Sunset. The looks I get now are many, but after the wheel/tire upgrade I might hurt someone's neck when I drive by. It really is fun around here because most have no clue what the heck I am even driving.

I remember people saying that if I got 265 fts the car would track in the road grooves and be hard to steer. I experienced none of that.
I was debating between 285 and 295 rears. Everyone was going 275's so I was worried I might be doing something stupid. Now, I am thankful i went 295's, they work great and look great. They dont even look that wide to me. The Z has so much wheel well that they enclose it so well.
