Well said, Jeff.

Actually, although I did, indeed, select and mount the Epic Miami wheels, I too was just spoofin with you in mock contention, however... I'll be the first to admit that sometimes my tongue is sharper than my wit.

Maybe that's why the moderators offer so many smilies.

Know anyone that wants to purchase a set of four 17" Touring Wheels?

Keep on Z'in!

Don't get upset, most people buy wheels for appearance and that is relative to your personal taste. That is why they make all type of wheels, to suit everyone taste. If performance was the only issue, everyone would pick te-37's or something like that. Besides, I do not want everyone wheels to look like mine.

^Tyr,
Though not required or expected, your apology and humility show a good deal of sensitivity and class. Good show.

Regarding my choices... This is my fifth Z, the prior 4 all having manual trannys. I chose the automatic because I have gotten use to the convenience in my last 3 cars (Ford Explorer, SLK320, 300M).

At age 57 (I now have "half-timers disease"), I choose to wimp out when it comes to clutching in the Seattle gridlock. Only recently did the city fathers quit calling this twice daily commuting phenomenum, "Traffic".

With regard to performance... I rarely "race" my ride anymore. Been there, done that! I'll leave the legend building to you lucky dogs still able to meticulously slip the gate between each gear ratio. My hat's off to you.

Simply stated, "I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once, as I ever was!"

Most of my need for performance now comes during those rare moments on sparsely laden freeways, when I can blow past the idiot hogging the passing lane while at 5mph below the posted limit. 60 to 120 is where it is at for me (thank you Valentine, thankyouverymuch!). At these speeds, you'll likely celebrate the fact that I have both of these knarly hands on the wheel and not fumbling for the next great upshift.

Having said that, in a recent trip across the Mojave, I smoked a Beemer, a Z28, and even a KIA at 142mph, when it appeared
that they could not seem to get out of their own way. But then, I had a running start! Such a cheat.

In summary, I love my CS Touring. I celebrate the 5AT every day of the week. Occasionally, after checking 8 points of the compass rose, I embrace the wheel lightly with both hands, brace my left leg against the door, click on the Valentine, slam the hammer down, and just let the redline torque dance up the gearing ladder. Seems faaast to me, but then I can't seem to find a 6MT in all this gridlock, when I want one.

Thanks for your parry, ^Tyr. Enjoy your Z. I'll live vicariously through you and the other 6MT's. Smite a few wanna be sportcars for me!

PS - If good fortune shines it's face upon you, as I truly hope it does, there will come a day when $30-40K is not "such amounts of money". I rail at this amount of money only when I fork over to Uncle Sam, this amount and more each year to fund the entitlement programs thrust upon us by the bleeding heart liberals amongst us. But that is another challenging debate best saved for another day.

I'm a performance junkie your not. i guess i should learn that i cant epxect ppl to have the same taste and dont know why i haddent figured that out after the recent mass amounts of flamage on this forum

for this i appologize

i have a question though.. auto or 6spd?
and no this isnt ment as a slander of any sort. but do you mind if i ask (and this goes to everyone) why you would spend money on a product that will knowingly reduce performance after spending such amounts to purchase a performance car in the first place? or did you purchase the car because you like the styling and are wanting to increase the looks (hey man its your car no knock at all i'm just wondering)

sorry for my immaturity and closemindedness.

*NOTE*
Guys. Please refrain from "negative" attacks and/or comments about wheel choices here! As you can see, this thread which I started quite a ways back has been VERY POSITIVE considering the length and posting number! I'd (as well as fellow members) very much like to keep it that way. Sure, I've seen some wheels posted up here that I do not like or care for, but I will express my sentiments in a "tactful" manner. Please follow suit.

Default Giovanna GF 1's

I agree, the Giovanna GF 1's would look great. I have heard they are expensive and heavy. Anyone know more about them? I love the look!

Indubitebly so!

My brother spend the winter months in Apache Junction, where I recently spent a couple days. That mountain road on up to Clear Lake is great fun and offers incredible scenery.

Why does everyone put down the 5AT as an unsports car? I am 58 and I use the manual mode on my AT 90% of the time because I love to use the manual shift, its fun and is a new experience after 37 yrs of MTs. I would challenge anyone who hasn't driven the 5AT at all, which seems to be most of the people on this site, barring the Charter members. If you are so inclined, do a search and you will find a mother lode of info on the 5AT. Drive one, you'll like it. Just don't put them down because your definition of a sports car =MT, its a narrow view and it isn't true.

Boomer--nobody ever uses search here, I feel deja vu in every thread I read.

These are some of the BEST looking wheels I have ever seen! They would have surely graced my Z had I or my importer been able to track down any info on these ****'s! Unfortunately no luck other than they are German Wheels located in Germany!

the guy owns an import body/custom shop. He has an NSX that he shows and was loaned these to try out. They didn't fit his either so now they are up for sale. I think they only work for the big BMWs.

Mmmmm pretty...

what company manufactures these rims? also what is the model sorry if this was already posted. if you got a link that would be mucho appreciated.
