Not sure how the Falken does as we don't carry them, but the Goodyear is been a great performer so far. Average in snow, but dry/wet, response, and life is really good. Scored well in our Tire Testing as well.

x2 on what size...

There are much better options than both of those.

Default 912's

I just bought some 912's. I have about 100-125 miles on them. I had Nitto Invo's on the car previously. I have to say the Falkens are must more complient and smoother for everyday driving, but do not provide the same level of grip in the corners, be prepared to counter steer.

I have 30 days to take the tires back, but I am unsure of what to get, I looooooved the nitto's but there appears to be better options out there. The Falkens are better in all respects than the Nitto's but in the most important category for me, handling.

I live in Western North Carolina, I drive a Jeep in the winter. I would prefer a tire that does not suck in the rain, grip in the rain does not matter as long as the tire is not prone to hydroplaning.

Other suggestions would be welcomed, and I am running stock 08 sizes and wheels (225/45 and 245/45 18's).

I'm good for a set that costs as much as 1k.

Thanks for the responses,

-Roper

I run 245/45 18 front 255/45 18 rear all falken on stock suspension. 30mm spacers rear, 25mm spacers front.

Looks great runs great.

No problems with the tires, but then again, I don't run it hard.

I think my next set will be 245/40 front and 265/40 rear.

Though the 40s will leave more of a gap in the fender than a 45 would. Would also be harsher from the smaller sidewall.

So, as always with tires, depends on what you want out of them.

If you are going to stay stock suspension and have no real super performance ambitions. I'd stick to a 255/45 rear 245/45 front. It's would have a little more road manners than the smaller 40 series.

Just figure out what your goals are, then worry about sizes.

Then we have logic. 245-40-18 is the same sidewall height as the stock 225/45 so that means the gap is the same and any harshness would only be cause by buying a tire with a stiffer of softer sidewall. Gues what about the rear? 265/40 or 275/40 also have the same sidewall height as the stock 245/40-18.

Maybe I was not clear? I meant just for the purposes of comparing the sizes I stated. I wasnt comparing them to stock, just to each other.

I simply meant that a setup of 245/45 front and 255/45 rear would be taller than a 245/40 front and 265/40 rear setup, by ~3/10ths.

I suck at putting my thoughts into words.

edit: actually a 235/45 front and 265/40 rear would have the same sidewall height.
