Track vs. Staggered wheel set up
Whats the difference versus a Track set up vs. Staggered set up. I see posts about people running the same width wheels for the track for better balance vs a staggered set up. What are the advantages and disadvantages for running the same width wheel front and rear? Do running a different sized tire on the same width wheel make a difference? Thanks!
The key is the tire not the wheels.
Members might go to a wider front tire to mitigate understeer. Others might go with a wider rear tire to lessen over steer. Depends on your suspension set up, driving technique and the track.

some would say there is no advantage to a square setup - I've tried it at one track day, I hated it. I was much quicker and more confident with a staggered setup - wasted $1000 worth of advans with that experiment
it is all a combination of driving style, and the setup of the car - there is no right or wrong for all people, only for an individual. It takes the willingness to learn and try different things to come to a setup that is consistantly quick
I would do the reverse....upgrade the tires first, the rest second. The car will only work as well as the tire lets it

I'll be doing my first auto-x in the Z in a few weeks and will see how the stock set up works for me. I will be upgrading my suspension first and when I burn through my Michelin's, I'll be upgrading wheels and tires.

Anyone know how much of a difference the 275's up front will make on corner exit if any? I figure it will take me a few days to figure it out and play with sways . dampening etc etc to get it right.
