I'm sure those are as good as anything else. Try these...

Since you didn't specify budget or level of performance, it's hard to narrow anything down for you.

I'm curious as to why you are ruling out changing tire size?

Depending on which set of rims I'm running come spring, I'm going to order the HTR Z III for my summer set. They look like a very nice tire at a very low price.

i think he thinks that wheels can only fit one size of tire, and since he doesn't wanna change wheels, he thinks he doesn't wanna change tire sizes

If that's the case then I'm sure mom and dad wouldn't want you driving on anything sub-standard or lower quality. I'd go with the best - Michelin PS2.

You can also consider some picks from these tests...

Probably not. I don't have experience with the PS All Season, but the PS2 is a top rated tire. I've been on those for about 4 years now and have never driven a better street tire. You can only hope that the All Season is a comparable performer in that category.

i know the ps2 is top rated, yet it is extremely expensive and doesnt last too long. i am really looking towards the continental dw but they say at highway speed its difficult to control? to keep in a straight line. this is the only thing right now keeping me from getting this tire. besides that i think it would be the best for my situation. i know its a soft tire. but its lasts and good handeling. any comments?

If one person reports problems with them, I wouldn't be concerned, it could be them that is the problem. If that problem is reported by many people, or is a known issue, then I'd probasbly avoid it. After all, straight line, highway speed is where you want the car to be most stable and handle at its best.

The Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 continues as a benchmark for performance tire driving feel and feedback - taut and responsive without feeling nervous or edgy. It's a real treat for any driver wanting to be engaged in the driving experience. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric and Pirelli P Zero were both similar, providing slightly slower steering response and less precision than the PS2. The Continental ExtremeContact DW followed and displayed responsive steering once the vehicle was into the corner. But when going straight down the expressway, this tire was easily nudged off course by moderate crosswinds or the whoosh of a passing semi, requiring frequent but small steering corrections to maintain a straight track down the road.

tire rack had said this in their testing and had gotten me concerned. also how do the pilot all season handle? would they handle better in the dry than the stock re040?

Check out this Road & Track review. They compare Nine relatively inexpensive against the Michelin PS2. Read it and then make a decision. That article was why I suggested the Sumitomo HTR Z III. It has a high wear rating, performs well, and is inexpensive. You can get a full set from Tire Rack for about $550 + shipping and I'm sure other retailers are about the same. Compare that to about $960 for the Michelin PS2.

Another plus with the Sumitomo HTR Z III is that they are a symmetrical tire. This means that you can rotate them by having them dismounted, flipped, and remounted to the opposite side. This will allow a lot more useful like out the tires than if you go with an asymmetrical tire.

Or you could pay for the tires yourself, get the size you want and say the hell with your parents, unless they paid for the car also.
