Upgrading tire size on stock wheels
Hey guys i have a 05 with the rays v1 wheels and i am looking into getting coilovers and spacers. but the oem tire size has pretty big sidewalls in the rear.
225 45 18 in the front and 245 45 18 in the rear.
i want to get myself a set of new tires but in a upgraded with and lower sidewalls
what have you guys been getting for your cars ?

sounds like he has rays track wheels 18x8 front 18x8.5 rear
You could try 255/40 Front and put 275/40 tires on the rear.
I havent actually shopped to see if these are common or not but they would be one correct option to stay close to stock diameter to make your speedo and vdc happy.
Check this site and just play with the sizes: http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp
PS: I dont think its worth it.

^^ If he does have 18x8.5 rears, wouldn’t mounting 275’s on the rear be a “push?”
For sure (275’s on 8.5” wide wheels) is outside the tire manufacturer’s recommendation and will be slightly bulged.

Not to mention a 255 on an 8 inch wheel is also out of limits. 245/40f and 255/40 rear and your speedo will be slightly off, 245/40 and 265/40 works, and for best handling with OEM swaybars would be a 245/40f and 245/45 rear.

Yes i have the rays track wheels. my car is a europe car, and has z33 in the vin code. it is grand touring spec, and has the rays, brembo etc and also leather, cruize etc
i think i will be going for 245/40 front and 255/40 rear sounds like a good upgrade and probably looks the best.
i also forgot to mention that i am upgrading because my old tires are worn out in the back and one of my front tires blew out the other day
