Default Banded TMPS doesn't fit inside Volk GT-S?

So my buddy and I banded some sensors according to the DiYs floating around the forums. We took it up to Firestone today and they said the sensor wouldn't fit, because there isn't enough clearance between the sensor and the tire. I find this hard to believe, because it looks like it should, and I think I've seen some people with this same setup. Has anyone gotten sensors in their Volk GT-S?

if they are banded around the center of the wheel then there should be plenty of static clearance available.

That's what I thought .. I think they were super busy and decided to give me some BS story instead of working on my car.

How can the band NOT fit? Can you show photos of the problem?

Go to a better tire shop. I've found that these places are usually full of careless employees that will mess your **** up anyway. I like places that the owner actually works at so if there's a problem, there is an instant solution.
