Default tire question

My 06' grand touring roadster is getting new tires. They will go on the track edition wheels, 18x8 - offset 30, 18x8.5 - offset 33. I'm looking at goodyear eagles or michelin pilot sports. I won't be racing with them, but obviously want the best ride and handling I can get. I would welcome any opinions.
thanks!

I have the same size wheels, and a new set of Goodyear Eagle GT's.

I use them for driving the Z to events, and so far they have been great in town, or on the highway (high wear rating). The price was good as well. No complaints here.

Goodyear Eagle GT's is pretty good for the price, thats what I would go with if those are your two options.

I posted tire test results from several sources. Very information. Believe thread is titled “What tires should I buy?”

I'd take the Michelin over most other options. If you feel wealthy, get the Pilot Sport 2 tires.

Sounds like you picked up a set of v1 track wheels for your car. The '06 GT came with the v2 track wheels which were 18x9F and 19x10R.

Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 might be an option to look at. They got a great review in Car and Driver They are a lot cheaper than those other tires mentioned so far. I know of at least one member here who has them and has been happy so far.

The hankooks are decent, I have them on another car. For the cost, I'd recommend them for a DD car but not track use.

I got the S1 Evo's on closeout a while back and have loved them as well.

Depends on what size's you go as to what's available. If you are not using on track, then the hot thing out now is the Hankook V12's. Great dd tire that will give good life and handle well on the street. I"d also look at the B-Stone RE760's.
