Size suggestion
Looking to get some new meats for my track wheels. Local is selling a set of 265/35/18s and 225/40/18s. My main question is will 265/35/18 look wierd in the back because of the height to width ratio?
If he means the stock Track wheels, then he is talking about 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear.
IMO, the 225, 265 combo is not great. You are keeping the front width stock, and making a big increase in the rear width. This is going to increase the understeer in the Z that is already pretty significant.
I would suggest staying with the stock size tires, or upsizing both front and rear and going with 245/45-18 front, and 255/45-18 rear.

For OEM track wheels you have 2 great options, first is 245/40 front and 245/45 rear , then the 245/40 front and 255/40 rear. The first combo will be very neutral, the second combo will be semi neutral but change your final drive a bit. The first combo i suggest for the street and the second i suggest for running the track.
ok that helps some. i was wanting to run a fat tire out back but I think i'll stick with 255 then. I was wanting to run a 265 out back b/c i've had fat tires on the back of my previous vehicles. So, 255 out back, 245 out front sounds good then?

Yeah we really need to know what size your wheels are. But 265/35-18 rear and 225/40-18's front will look like crap if you look closely. If you swapped and did the 265's front, your rears would be so skinny you'd probably start spinning 360's during aggressive corning. For looks though you certainly want a smaller sidewall on the front, or equal to the rear. And having skinny tires on the rear would look horrible and again, handling would be drifto-matic.
If you have a standard stagger that is run on Z's, a 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear, the ideal sizes are 245/40-18 front and 275/40-18 rear I think.
