Default ADR Quality?

I really REALLY like the way the m-sports look, but I don't know anything about ADR. They're priced relatively cheaply, but I want a rim that will last. Anyone know how their buildquality is? It's especially important if I do 19's w/ 35's on them, because the rim will need to be stronger than if I were running 40's or 45's.

The only complaints I have ever heard or read about online, all seem to lead back to ADR wheels purchased from WheelMax. They sell B-Stock wheels, and even ADR/Golden Apple have been frustrated with Wheelmax.

That said, I HAVE ADR wheels. I recieved them, and looked them over throughly before I mounted them. The finish on mine were perfect. I didn't see any paint or clear coat problems, or anything. The build was solid, and they have been mounted for 2 weeks now. No problems.

I drive on a lot of rough roads, and road construction. Havn't had any probs so far. But, you know what? If I bend a rim, its really only going to cost me about $200 to fix, instead of $700+ for a Rays/Volk/HRE/etc... *shrugs* ... worth it to me.

I got the same wheels as Neurosis. Checked it and looks great!
Just got to get the lugs and lock and I can't wait. If u can afford 19s..get these wheels...its full lip and looks great in hyperblack. go to wheel gallery and u'll see.

Ive read that some were bent when hitting pot hole and some didn't. I guess it depends how fast u are driving...but replacement is cheap. If you scratch the rim..which is bound to happen,,,u won't feel bad about it cause it aint gonna cost you a car payment to replace.

I have yet to find anyone show any proof that they are crappy. Most have an opinion that seems to be a quote from someone that quoted someone, etc..

I was actually gonna get these. For the price you pay they are awsome I think. People have this idea that you need volks on your car. If my Z was for autoX I would probably spring for volks or some other high end manufacturer. But spending 4 k on wheels is little ridiculous.

I am actually going with Axis Supermesh. Because I really like their design. And they are reasonably priced.

Thanks for the replies guys...both expensive rims and rims and this price point both have their good and bad points. I'll prob go with something like ADR after I get the system done (should be all done by summer...maybe rims in '05?).

Thanks for your input

Talking ADR RIMS

I have ADR M-Sports "Hyper Black" on my SS Roadtser. I really like the quality and finish on the wheels. I went with 18/8.5 (f) and 18/9.5 (r) with Toyo Proxes T1S 245/40 (f) 275/40 (r).

I stayed away from the 19's because I wanted to maintain a little more of the ride smoothness and didn't want to destroy them on our California roads. We have potholes the size of some small states.....

I think some people think that because a wheel is cheap in price, means the quality is cheap. Which may be the case with some wheels, but not all.

Right now I'm going to stick with 18's. 19's are nicer looking, but the weight and cost are holding me back. I've seen alot of pics of people with 18's, and they look nice. My car came with 17's.

As far as brand goes, I'm looking at Ace wheels. There's a 5 Spoke model I really like. I like 5 Spoke wheels . Will definately keep you guys posted .

I love my M-Sports! I was one of the first to get them on a Z earlier this year. I've put almost 5,000 miles on them and they are doing great!

I replaced the ADR centercap with a Z side fender badge... they look great!

the only problem I see with them is offset..... they could use a little less offset. I am running spacers now to get them at the fender's edge.

I bent one of my 19" M-Sports on a pot hole. I ended up getting it repaired for $120 but it took the place almost three weeks to finish. Looks good after the repair.
