Default Enkei RP-F1 9.5" Front Question

I am going to be ordering Enkei RP-F1 in 17".

The rear will be 17x10 +18 running 285/40/17.

The fronts i have a dilemma. Enkei has them in 9.5 with either a +18 or +38 offset. I want to run 275/40/17 in the front.

Remember these are the fronts. Which offset should I go with in light of potential rubbing problems? The Volk Racing TE37 Special setup uses 9.5" fronts with a +22 offset and I'm concerned that the 4mm offset difference between those and the RP-F1 +18 offset will be too much but I also see that the Axis 18" race setup uses 10" wheels up front with what looks to be an aggressive offset.

I am also lowered on Tein Flex which may be a factor. If i have to roll the rear fenders, no big deal but I don't think the fronts can be rolled since they're already inset.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

there's a post somewhere about the +38 offset not fiting over the Brembos... not sure if you have them or not, but keep that in mind

I have Enkei RPO2J 17x9 +35 and I run 275/40-17 up front with plenty of room inside the fender, but I'm very, very close to the suspension parts on the inside... I'm not lowered, but looks like if I did, I'd still have plenty of room with the fender.

the 275/40 with the +38 may rub the suspension on the inside... If you get them, also get longer wheel studs (very easy to change them) and run a 5mm spacer in front... the 5mm spacer will effectively change your offset to +33

Or... just get the RPO2J in 17x9... I can guarantee you they will fit

Hope that helps!

hmmm...maybe I'll just order the 17x9 +22 then. It seems you aren't having any problems with 275's with a 9" wide wheel.

I guess I will have to order the fronts and rears from Japan (Enkei USA doesn't bring in the 10" wide and the 9" +22 for some reason).

Thanks for the info Audito350Z!

I am running the RPF's on my car with the fronts being 17"X9" with the 35mm offset and 275/40/17's. The rears are 17"X91/2" with the 38mm offset and 285/40/17's.
I have the car slightly lowered with the RS*R springs (.5"-.7") and Cusco bars.
I have no problems at all with rubbing or anything else.

Btw the center caps are on back order for these wheels and it might be 1st of the year 'till they get here and they aren't included in the price ($13.85ea)of the wheels.
I am running this setup with the Kumho MX's and like them alot.

Your setup is almost exactly how I'm going to do it up except for the wheel widths and/or offsets. Cusco bars should be arriving shortly as well as the MX's.

Do you have any pics? Thanks.

I was told the 17"X10" were coming in after the first of the year.
If your serious place your name on the backorder list for the center caps, I'm number 2 on the list.
Discount Tire is the cheapest by far on this wheel, I paid under $1700 for wheels and tires. The center caps will be around $60 when they come in.

I'll do somepicture for you on Sunday hopefully.

Enkei USA told me the 10's and other offsets would be available next year as special order items. I'm getting them at cost anyways through a friend's shop who can go directly through Japan. I'm not a big fan of Enkei USA anyways...i think they watered down the Enkei name by offering US domestic market wheels that were subpar in quality and their customer service attitude is lacking. You can see the difference in wheel lines tween the 2..Enkei Japan is much more performance oriented.

I'm not sure on the center caps yet..if i want them or not. We'll see.

I'm also considering WIDE 17's. I would like 9"s in front & 10" or 10.5"s rear. Looking for 265's & 275's......

For the front offset, go big #'s......less scrub radius.

As for the center caps......most track organizations require/recommend their removal anyways. Also the latest TREND is to do without.

Can I get them in black?

Funny you should mention that. I am getting the wheels powdercoated gloss black.

You can only run the 17x9's up front if you have the Non Brembo brakes. The 17x9 RPF-1's WILL NOT clear the Brembos up front. I know for sure because I had to return a set and get the 17x8.5's instead.

Indeed...i chose those because of your informative thread concerning exactly that. I intend on only upgrading to slotted rotors on my enthusiast with porterfield street/autocross pads.
