Hey all, i have a problem, i am leaking air out of the sidewall of my T1r's there is no hole visible, its just a leak through a pin size hole (not even visible) since its on teh sidewall my guesses of people not wanting to patch it were correct. I found this stuff in autozone that seals the tire from the inside... cant rember the name its liek fix a flat or something.... would you guys recommend this as a fix?? THe tire is practically brand new!!! I dont wanna replace a brand new T1r... if anyones had experience with this stuff please let me knwo

fix a flat is a temporary fix... it works really well, inflates the tire and seals the leak, however I am not sure if it will seal the side wall. any one else want to chime in?

I doubt you have a pin hole. Most of the time, slow leaks are caused by an improper bead seat on the wheel. A shop can break the bead, apply some sealant to the bead and wheel then re-seat the bead. That usually fixes it.

By all means, do NOT use a squirt type tire sealant. All that does is make a huge mess, and it might ruin your tire pressure sensor.

If the tire is "practically brand new" then take it back to whoever you bought them from and tell them you have a slow leak that they need to find and fix. Why spend $200-$300 on a new tire when you can get it fixed for free?

8K miles is not "practically brand new". That's 50% used up for most tires. In that case, you're looking at buying two new tires - you don't want one new and one old on there.

+1. Need to replace as sidewall damage cannot be repaired. May need to get two depending on how worn the other is.

Put the fix a flat in and see what happens if it doesnt work what you lost $5 no biggie. Its sealed a couple tires for me over the years, why buy a new tire when the tread is still good. Keeping the z in good tread is expensive enough

I think I would just get a new tire or tires. There is no use taking a chance on a blowout that could cause a lot of damage.

Think about it. Fix-a-flat is liquid glue. Do not fill a tire with that crap.

Not before 2007 - that's when they were required on all cars.

Mmmm. Well like I said before I'm not to eager to jumping board the liquid glue train cuz it just seems fishy, but I'm also not really ready to dish out 500 for new tires cuz I would have to get two.... I'm in my last year of college and I really don't have the money .... What's the problem with that glue thing?? Why are people opposed to it? You say don't use it but u don't say why.... I just looking for a reason not to use it....

Didn't know that all zs had pressure sensor... Guess the original owner got rid of them when he changed rims
