Painting Rims?
I've recently purchased an 03 350Z Track that's PPW. Because of the Brembo brakes my rim options are a little more limited so I'm thinking about painting my rims. I want white on white, so do I need to buy some PPW from the dealer or other source or will normal white rim paint be OK?

First... I don't think white on white would look good on the stock rims. I know you didn't ask my opinion I just think you should get a photoshop first or something in case you end up not liking it and messing up your wheels.
Second, get the correct paint code if you want to match the paint because I doubt you will be able to just go to walmart/pepboys/autozone and look at the automotive paint and find one that looks close. From threads I've read PPW is apparently a hard color to match.
I'm not sure about getting it from the dealer but there are a few places online that sell our factory colors.

It is just more simple to have the rims powder coated then painted

oh boy... how's about not painting stock parts at all. ever.
this looks trashy in general and demonstrates a complete lack of taste,
save for a few select items (i.e. mirror stalks).
save your money and buy wheels that you like that "fit" your
brembo kit.
i'd say my options are more limited than yours

you won't be happy with the outcome of painted stockers...especially PPW...and if you do some research, you will realize that you aren't really limited much because of your brembos...search around a bit

I said SLIGHTLY limited and I'm definitely not complaining about the Brembos. I'm saving up for new rims, but want to do something to set my car about a bit sooner. Anyone recommend any sites where to browse for rims?

Maybe he had a bad powdercoat experience.
I had a friend who had powdercoated wheels and they chipped like hell at around the 2 year mark. I'm gonna say painting or powdercoating just needs to be done right.

Well if your gonna put it that way painting could chip too if not prepped correctly. If both processes are done correctly than powder coating should still be more durable since it actually bonds to the metal when you heat it. Thats why things that take a lot of beating from the elements or other things they use powder coating.
