Right now Im running Hancook Ventus v12's. They are decently sticky, and an exceptional deal for the price. Not sure about durability yet, I only put 2k miles on them. I used to run falken 452's, which are little more expensive, but still considered "cheap". I would go through a set of those in 10k miles though.. so I switched to the Hancook to check the durability.
Either way I would by from tire rack.... Even with the delivery charge their sets always end up cheaper than any local shop I check.

Check out the Kumho Ecsta series or the Yokohoma S Drive.

Tirerack has ratings for most tires... but onlinetires.com is typically the cheapest. Discount tire price matches, so if you find any deals, show them and you can buy them locally from discount tire.
Nankangs are really cheap, but they're a bit loud... other than that, I don't really have any complaints.
General exclaim uhp, continental extreme dws, and kumhos are mid-priced, and they've all been pretty good.

I have toyo T1Rs right now. I like them because they are very grippy and responsive. On the down side they are very expensive and wear fairly fast.
My last tires were the Hankook Ventus V12. Those were great tires. Fairly grippy, affordable, and long tread life.
The last tires I had on my stock wheels were Federal SS595. These tires were very comparable to the Hankooks and they are even cheaper.
Although the T1Rs are the best performing of the bunch, I think I am going to get the Federal's again for my next set of tires.
