i call bs on that story. that evo crashed hard enough to break one the lugs. a hard impact like that will break any wheel. look at the damage on the side skirt.

^ maybe?

either way...i think the wheel was previously damaged OR...the wheel was not properly torqued down and may have caused the person to lose control of the car when the wheel started to come loose.

http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-530-wh.../53089542n.htm

i just dont get the whole 9.75 width .. wish it would come in 10.5 with more concave for rears .. 9.75 would be fine for the front

a few more shots of my GF's wheels on my car.

i know it needs fatter tires...and if i were to go with a 18" setup...i'd at least run a 275/40 in the rear.

anyways. on to the pics. IMO--i like the rim design...but i have my heart set on 19's at the moment.

that was on a local forum here in chicago.

supposedly--the girl was driving 35mph on smooth road and the wheel "broke" on her causing her to side swipe a parked car.

it could have been a wheel failure, it could have been damaged prior to install. point is...no one really knows what actually happened?

Looks like the same thing that happened to my friend's 335i Coupe. He had a fracture in his rim after hitting a massive bump or hole in the road. He kept driving on it. Filled up the tire with air a few times...until the fracture cracked all the way around the rim and separated from the tire looking exactly like that.

What I see when I look a that picture is.... L2Drive without hitting **** and you wont have anything to worry about because just tooling down the road wont cause failure like that.... Been driving slammed cars for 10 years with off brand wheels and never have had any issues.....

Been driving for 18 years total and have never had any issues lol... actually paying attention to the road/what other people are doing around you and not texting or holding a phone up to my face really makes a difference. Granted no one is perfect and I dont claim to be but in my experience (18 years of driving on public roads, about 10 years of modded driving) I havnt had any issues And I guess I have been lucky to avoid stupid people lol...

Ordered these XXR 526's at Discount tire a couple days ago and was told they were on back order for 30-45 days.... kinda pissed about that but it gives me time to save for some decent rubber... anyone know if the Nitto 555's are any good?

so i just talked to the guys at a xxr dealer and they said for a 350z a 10 inch wheel with a 255 would need some of aggressive modification. i think they just want to make sure i get something that fits and suggest a 245 40 on a 8.5.

so i want to order 4 18x10 521s with +20. will a 275 on a 18x10 with +20 fit upfront without rubbing on stock height and fenders rolled? i want 295 in the back.
is this going to work out for my car or is it too uch tire and too wide to turn?

You mean XXR 521's 18x10 +25??? If so, I am currently running this setup, CURRENTLY, I have 265/35/18 front and 275/40/18 rear, and it fits like a charm, I had to do a light roll on the rear fenders for when I hit bumps, I am lowered on coilovers now and I have rolled the rear fenders nearly flat in preparation for 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rear, and YES they will fit without crazy camber! I will have about -1.5 camber all around, but when I get the new tires I am going to lower my car more and we will see what camber specs are possible with the larger tires. I hate having traction problems!

Here are some pictures of my set up as of a few months ago

Hell yeah that looks amazing! im goin for it.i too hate my traction problems. i burn out so bad right now its unbelievable, well into third at under 4k rpm. and then do four wheel slides when i hit the brakes, and no confidence in grip in turns and im runnin 225/245 35 nt555 nittos.
lol about the lip, get an ebay one. mine is great. still need to mount it with some structural adhesive. thanks again for the info your car looks badass.

does your car not have ABS?

why did you buy NT555 if you are into going fast in turns? do you mean NT05s?
