what size tires on g35 wheels?
so i just got my hands on some g35 wheels and i know alot of ppl have them on their Zs so my question is, what size tire are u running?
i was thinking of going with 225 35 19 and 245 35 19 instead of the stock 40 series. im not lowered yet and probably wont be for a long while.
any help would be appreciated thanks.

Anyone with any reasons why not to ride with g35 volk stocks on a Z ??
I was thinking of purchasing some wheels, but then I thought to myself, "Maybe RAYS made that wheel specially to work perfectly with the G, not the Z" but then again we are basically the same car.... Just in need of some opinions please.
And if anyone knows what spacer setup work for this wheel on a Z that's looking for that "Hella Flush" look, that would be extremely helpful

Those front sizes fit fine - but the wheels are too narrow in the rear for a really good match for that 245, and you are also increasing front grip disproportionally to rear grip - which will usually make the Z tail-happy. Great if you want to shift the handling toward less understeer, more oversteer, just realize you are changing the balance significantly. 255 isn't enough to keep the balance, 265-275 is much better match for a 245 19" front
One weird thing I don't get with the G RAYS OEM widths is they made the 19" G35 wheels too narrow in the rear and put a tire only as wide as my '04 G Coupe's Rear 18" wheels. IIRC that set was 235F, 245R and my main complaint was not enough rear tire traction, hard to keep them hooked up. The next gen 19" sport wheel package, yes they are Sporty but not a real large improvement other than reduced weight, but at some cost in ride harshness over the prior 18" wheel package. Plus reduced tire choices and more $$$ for tires. Seems like it was as much for appearance as function.
The wider NISMO RAYs, yes I like the looks, but bought them very specifically looking for that sizing (width in particular). I am very happy with the tire wheel sizes in my sig, I think they have an ideal balance from a performance viewpoint. I finally have enough rear traction where I can break the rears loose with my right foot but it's very controllable.
I've had Z/G with everything from 17" stockers, 18" with varying widths, and the 19" set I run in Summer. Even my snows, I keep the OEM sizing matching the 18" set, I'd like to go narrower but there isn't a good 18" combo I'd use. They work pretty well

[QUOTE=SteveZ;8515210]The wheels really work best with the stock tire sizing. Lower profile and same widths is asking for trouble. They are a little narrower wheels in 19's than RAYS like the LMGT4's which easily mount a 275 rear.

thats good info there
and i agree nissan should of made those rear 19 OEM G RAYS a bit wider.
what about running 235-35 in front and 255-40 in the rear? i know a member on here running those sizes and he says it works good, i may try that .

Guess it depends on the driver. I'm such a big fan of the 275's because it's the first tire I've had that you have to work at turning over, and throwing the car hard into a turn, there is finally enough rubber that it's not an automatic 4-wheel drift. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I had a blast with my skinny-butt OEM Bridgestones on my Z (225F/235R 17's) for oh, about 10k miles. Also only 140 wear factor, but talk about way too little tire for this car...
I'm also bummed at the Goodyear F1 changes, though I should wait and drive a car with them. The outgoing tire model works great in deep water, I've driven in some very heavy rain at freeway speeds with next to zero hydroplaning issues (anyone who says zero is probably lying). But they wear well, stick well, and with their smooth surface, they are very quiet, more so than the Pilot Sports, and any Bridgestone I've used.
Bottom line depending on price I suppose, I wouldn't run those wheels even on my G, let alone on a Z, the rear wheel isn't wide enough for my tastes, but my priority is performance first. When you start needing spacers to get the fit flush, that should tell you something.
If you want the flush look run stock tire sizes with 25mm spacers front and rear. For handling you would want a 245/35 front and 245/40 or 255/35 rear, then you could only do a 20mm spacer. You can also reuse your stock Nissan center caps with those wheels.
