Default Help with wheel mod, please :)

I just picked up 350ZR, LS ENTH, and I'd like to upgrade the wheels, maybe to 19's. Unfortunately, I know NOTHING about this stuff. Hence, I am looking for any advice regarding good brands, where to order from, how to go about getting them installed, prices, and how to make sure they will fit right (safely). Sorry about the open-endedness, but I gotta start somewhere Thanks for all advice in advance.

For 19s...alot of people/experts on this site...have gone

Wheels:19x8.5 Front/ 19x9.5 Rear
Tires: 245/35/19 Front-275/35/19 Rears

As for the brand of wheels...what is ur budget? There are so many..do a search or go gallery should give u some good ideas.

Tires,,,I have KUMHO Ecsta MX which are cheap but good.
ALot of people say Toyos T1s or Bridgestone SO3s are good.

how much do you want to spend, rims can range from 200 each to 600each or more.

I suggest you visit the wheel gallery, TONS of pictures compiled in there of all the members rims. many are the 5-600$ each variety tho.

youll see alot of volk, iforged, and even HREs in there, most of these rims are forged, meaning very light, important for performance.

sizes you will want equal or bigger width in rear, 8 or 8.5 in front is popular; 9-10 in back is popular. offsets... thats more specific to other info; decide this last.

Start looking around and get an idea of what kind of style you're interested in. Think about things like type of spokes, color, lip.

Then start worrying about sizes and offsets....

Ok, very cool, thanks. One question: how do "offsets" figure into things? Meaning what are they, and how do I calculate them? (Uggh, I am the ultimate newbie!)

See second post in this forum, post titled "Note: FAQ's: Offsets, pics, Tire Calc, etc..."

in short they measure how the wheel sits in relation to the hub, does it sit farther away and flush with the fender, or tucked in.

the exact meaning of the numbers, check the other thread.

Ahh, ok, thanks, that is very helpful. I am guessing that an offset placing the wheels more toward the fender is desirable? Interesting.
