Default 04 Touring with new rims???

Hey, just bought some tires off a local forum member.
I have an 04 touring and I believe he sold me 17's and told me they would fit. After doing another look, I have 18's? Will these fit, or should I go talk to him?

Of course 17" tires won't fit on 18" wheels. Sounds like you need to go look at the tires on the car now and double check what you bought to make sure they are the same diameter.

Can you put a 17 inch tire on an 18 inch wheel?

17 inches is the INNER diameter of the tire. 18 inches is the OUTER diameter of the wheel. No match.

My fault for not including this info, forgot to type it and i thought I did.

I have rims and tires. I think the 04 toruing has 18's, and these are 17's. Would like to know if I can put them on, maybe use GPS for speed measurements?

so the 17's Rims and tires wont fit my car? I am taking off my 18's rims and tires?
There are two different rim/tire sets. One is 18(stock touring rims and tires) the other is the 17's (rims anbd tires).

Everyone misunderstood you.

If it's a touring, you have TPMS, so putting anything on without your stock sensors or new ones programmed in will be a problem.

We can't tell you if they'll fit without more info. will a 17" rim bolt up? of course. but you didn't tell us width, offset, tire size. Stock 17's? of course they'll fit.

Ha. Ha. Now I get it.

Tires sizes are?
Do you have VDC?
Do you have TPMS?

First - why do you want to downgrade wheel/tires setup? IS this a winter only setup you want to use?

17" OEM wheels and tires will fit a car that came with 18" wheels and tires.

VDC shouldn't be a problem if the OEM tire sizes are still being used. If the previous owner replaced tires and didn't use the same sizes, you could have issues.

TPMS will be an issue but not something you can't live with. If you swap to 17" wheels/tires, they likely won't have sensors installed so you'll lose that feature.

This is a winter only set up. It was used previously on an 08 350z. I am unsure as to the exact specs at the moment, but they fit the 08. The wheels are "Fast", fastwheels.ca.

So I guess this will just change my speedometer readings then?

Thanks for the help, and again sorry for the miscommunication on my end,

Christian

Do not know. Still you are not telling me tires sizes.

Same size tires all around? VDC may not like this. If you have a problem turn VDC OFF.

Potential problem with TPMS. Some wheels will not accept sending units. You can certainly drive one season without TPMS.

Actual speed 100 MPH. Speedometer will read 99.76 MPH. This is acceptable.

NOTE FOR OEM 17 inch wheels: Wheels are 7.0 inches(2) and 7.5 inches(2). Make sure you put the same size wheels on the same axle.

Thanks for the patience and sorry for me being a dumby with a keyboard
