wheel widen question
i have a 18x10 offset +25 on my z but i wanna get the back to be wider
would you recommended for the wheel to be cut and make it wider
is it safe, also would it have any side effect, recommended shop? price?
thank for the help

If you wanted it for a show-only car, then it might be okay. I would never consider it for a car that is driven regularly or hard - too much chance of failure. You never know what kind of weld job was done, etc.
Unless these are rare, out of production wheels, you'd do better to sell the old ones and buy new ones of the width you desire.

blah, my wheels are widened by weld craft and I think my car makes pretty good power.
Weld craft did an excellent job. balanced out better than stock.
OP you just need to check your clearances since they widen the inside. You'll definitely need spacers to clear the suspension with the current specs on your wheels.
With a 15mm spacer and a 1" extension you'd have about the same offsets as me. A flat roll will clear a 295 with minimal camber.
Downside its expensive and shipping plus unmount and remount of tires adds up QUICK! you can run a 295 on a 10" rim right now, so I wouldnt bother in your case....

I looked into widening the stock track rims and like str8 said it starts to add up. You have the XXR521's which cost 150+ per rim. The widening cost roughly 100 per inch(i think correct me if i am worng). I would recommend weld craft b/c they are the only ones I have seen people use on the site.

XXR wheels, i would just buy new wheels. By the time your done you could have bought some nice quality wheels for the price you paid to widen crap.
