It has nothing whatsover to do with getting recognition from other enthusiasts. You don't mod your car to get a bunch of attaboys from the internet, or at a car meet. Does such recognition feel good? Sure...but it's not the reason for doing it for those who are passionate about the hobby. If you're doing this (or any other hobby) for anyone but you, you're only going to end up losing (and look like a loser doing it), regardless of how much money you have to spend

True enough but once again theres really only a small amount of people that really care. the majority of people just want the recognition and pose.

keep it classy now..

i think the offset that you will need for OEM brembos is in the low +20s (i.e. 22 or 18)..

Wrong. There are countless people on this forum that use it merely as a means to gain recognition with their mods. There is but a small handful that use the high dollar products in any competitive/motorsports manner. Most are simply for picture taking.

I agree with your point, but it's not accurate for my350z.com.

Doesnt the vendor clearly state only +12 and +0 clear brembos? I'm guessing the spokes are thicker?

LOL...Ill say it again..Im rocking the Varrtrannys.

Bought some authentic parts and bought some replica stuff for my car...just the way I am..if I had endless amount of cash I would of probably bought Volks.....on the other hand if I had that kind of money I probably would of not bought a 03 Z as a daily ....I didnt even know what Volks were till I got on this site..I bought the Varrs cause they looked good and were priced decent.

Then again Im a bargain hunter as you can see..Ill spend money on things that I think will get the job done...I dont represent these replicas as authentic parts..if someone asks me I'll tell them..

Give the guy a break..replicas in anything is a huge industry from shoes, purses, watches, wheels etc etc...replicas are a multi billion dollar business...a few members on here have a really big issue with replicas..i wouldnt stress about it to much..theres much bigger issues on this planet of ours to deal with.

^ur not putting your life at jeopardy by buying a replica louis vutton purse for your boyfriend but you can potentially being doing just that when he is blowing you on the freeway at 3am when you are driving 90mph and one of your varrtranny commits suicide. this doesn't mean it couldn't happen with real volks, but id rather spend a little more and get the real thing. its like buying condoms at the grocery store compared to buying them at the 99cents store.

i'm running GT-S, and was actually thinking of getting 18" Varreston wheels to use on the strip. but thought about it, and decided that i'd better invest the same amount of money on a used genuine set.

but like most said, those are replicas, and the owner shouldn't be putting VR stickers all over to prove they are. cuz that just .................

Look you and I have gone over this... time after time(no pun intended). I can't stand the replica wheel industry... period. I bargain hunt too... I search and search until I find what I want. I have yet to own a new set of wheels... EVER(until now)! I just recently bought a set of RPF1's for track use as well as VSXX's to maintain the baller status I've come to appreciate by owning my LM's. Those Enkei's and Works have been the only new wheels I've ever had.I'm a wheel *****, a car enthusiast, and now I'm going to try my luck in hitting the track, that being said... Varrs have no place being on a Z. So what my Z isn't a Ferrari or a Porsche but it has a real heritage. Cheap and Z should never be used in the same sentence in ANY aspect.

I think you're overestimating the status of this car.

It's not an exotic. It's a Z.

Part of what made the 240 so popular was the value- you got a lot of car for a great price. Does value=cheap? Not necessarily, but the Z isn't a high-end vehicle- that's just how it is.

Not a fan of those wheels, but under normal driving they are now stronger or weaker than the factory (non forged) wheels. Also plenty of us run non forged wheels on the track without problem. I run RPF1's now, but for the past 3.5 years i ran a cheap as hell set of MB weapons ( a knockoff of a ??? wheel)

I will agree that the Z isn't a high end car... but I see more of the 240 guys respecting the heritage on their particular car then some of these Z owners.
