Default funny situation

Was driving pretty fast one night, had to take a wide left after a small stretch of wet road (did not see this till the last sec). As soon as i took the turn, the car spun out and hit the curb. Luckily no cars were close by. I was expecting to see a shattered bumper. The wheel had hit the curb first so not a single scratch on the car.
Only later i realized the wheel got bent

The guy whom I bought my z from had installed chromed OEM wheels. Nissan dealers dont have chromed wheels, so I am having to buy the wheel and get it chromed. .... errr ....
Poor Z has been parked for a week now.

Told my self, no speeding before I install perf tires. Wet roads are always a pain.

Enjoy your Z

I bet the wheel isn't the only thing bent

Check your alignment since then?

That would not be a wise thing to do. Check this out...

Don't all Zs come with Ultra High Performance tires? Actually, those are what you DON'T want on wet roads. Performance tires are made for dry roads.

My alignment is most definitely off, need to fix that too.

This is my biggest worry - of getting the new oem wheels chromed. Even the dealer mentioned this. But at this point I dont want to spend too much.
I just bought the car with a all cash deal. Right now, i am having to spend like $800 for the new oem wheel + chrome + get it fixed.

You have any suggestions ?

YOu can get some nice Rota's for around $900, Enkei starting at $1200 or look in the For Sale area for some nice used wheels.

You already paid $600+ for just 1 OEM wheel? You know they go dirt cheap on the forum, right? I'm selling all 4 of my 18" OEM wheels for $600

I did not want to buy used ones.
hmm... actually new to all this. Just bought the car 2-3 weeks back (my first car)
But yeah, I have made up my mind to fit some after market stuff instead of getting oem wheel chromed and worrying about cracks on the wheel.

I am now looking at enkei wheels, anything else to look for ?

thanks for you comments.

1) Find a used chrome OEM wheel for sale, either here (rare) or on eBay.

2) If you know you alignment is out, that probably means bent suspension components. They are not cheap either. Since you appear to have some budget concerns, you better look into what else you have to replace.

If your payin 624 for one wheel, you might as well get a better set of aftermarket wheels. I've always been a fan of the axis s5f, which run for about 1100 for all 4 (New)last time I checked.

Are you trying to keep your car factory? Someone suggested the Enkei wheels, the RPF1 are really light but I dont know the price off hand.

You should definitely browse through our market place. A friend of mie is selling a used (decent) set of Nismo LMGT4's in bronze for 900! There's alway good deals there, plus you'll upgrade your style
