Default My New 18" Winter Package

Just installed an 18" wheel and tire package for winter.

18" ASA GT1 with Blizzak LM-60 all around.

The fronts required a 5mm spacer to clear the Brembo brakes.

All and all happy with the results. Not the best rims, but great price and nice to have a dedicated set as my PS2s would not survive a snow fall!

Here are some pics from my phone:

Thanks for the responses.

Definitely not my favorite rim design, I like my stock GT rims better, but very happy with them for a winter package.

Impressions:

Noticeably heavier. This is great, feels like I can tackle some light snow with no problem.

Car still handles great for city driving, but definitely not tires I would want to push my luck on now. My last track day had an explicit disclaimer of no snow tires and now I see why.

I like the fact the interior of the rim is black especially for winter road grime. I had the opportunity to fully detail my stock rims yesterday and it was nearly impossible to clean the interior of all the brake dust and grime that accumulated. So all that really needs to be cleaned now is the spokes.

I purchased from tirerack (I have no affiliation). Came mounted and balanced with tpms installed. Very happy, shipping was very quick, pictures were a fairly accurate representation, although they were described as bright silver when in fact they are gunmetal/chromish.

My only beefs: because the tires are directional (?) they mounted 2 incorrectly with the tread going in the wrong direction, and I had to get them swapped around.

Also, supplied 2 different kinds of lug nuts, so fronts have one kind and rear another, not a big issue but should have all been the same.

Anyways, I am set for our sporadic Vancouver winters, and am actually looking forward to some snow!
