Default Tire wear (feathering?)

Here is what my front tires look like. They have excessive shoulder wear. I put the tires on 6-7 months ago (5000 miles) with about 6/32nds. The majority of the tread has worn evenly. I checked through the feathering thread and didn't see anything quite like this. Both front tires have this issue. I had an alignment 6 months ago. I was set at .01 degree inward toe and -2 degrees of camber. They don't rub on anything. Anybody had similiar wear issues. Recommendations?

Car has not been in any accidents. Suspension is Apexi Coilovers. Tires are Toyo T1r (235/35/19).

No. I do not see the high-low pattern or saw tooth pattern or cup typical of feathering.

Recommend that you swap the tires now.

Flip your tires for longer life. Bet you have blown compression arm bushings, that gives you more camber while turning and tears up tires. Also -2 will effect tires like you have shown.

No. I mean swap the tires inside to outside, outside to inside. Cost about $40. I think you can get another 5,000 miles.

Yeah I was thinking about swapping them, but the steel belt is starting to show through. I don't think this is traditional camber wear. The inside tread depth is the same as the outside. It is excessively wearing on the shoulder only. I will look into the compression bushings. Is that a common wear component for an 06 with 59k?

Looks like normal camber wear to me. You also get a bit of "scrub" with toe. Typical of 350Z.

If your car has been lowered, YES

So do you have to replace the entire arm, or is there an upgraded replacement bushing that I can install? This car has been lowered for a little less than a year.

My rear tires have more traditional camber wear; with gradual wear across the entire tire. THis is isolated on the very edge and my ghetto paint drawing illustrates the angle of the wear.

I just ordered some Michelin PS2s for the front. I am going to order new compression bushings and install when I put on the new tires. I'll do an alignment then too. Thanks for the info guys.

I found a couple of threads on this site where people described similar wear issues, however, no pictures were posted and no resolutions were described. Hopefully these changes solve the problem. I was actually really impressed with the T1Rs. It’s too bad they have to get dumped prematurely. I still have them in the rear (with 8/32nds) so hopefully the mismatched set won’t cause any problems.

Any other recommendations would be appreciated as well.

Take some camber out, drop it to -1.5 unless you need the high camber for the racetrack.

yes it is! at any mileage, once lowered, your compression rod bushigns are gone! they are rubber and weak...stock suspension and lil time alone will tear them........lowering then just speeds up the process as the rubber is always pulled out from normal even if the car is just sitting in the driveway..

the spl bushing linked! pretty much terrasmak has been on point on this thread!

to get the front camber down, you will need front upper arms. i suggest lowering it back into spec if this is just a daily driver car....from there your tires will last ya as intended.....
