Exclamation Need help with my setup !! for speed bumps in Kuwait

hi guys,

first of all i just recived my car from US ..(now in kuwait). my car is lowered with JIC coil-over A2 flat about 1.5 inch lower than stock 350z and i have been told that the highest setting for this coil-over. tires used 295/30 toyo r888 R , F 265/35 toyo r888 on 9.5F and 10inch rear volk rims.

to the subject, do to the street speed bumps her in kuwait my car just scrape the exhaust each time i go over one , and i don't want to heavily damage my exhaust each time i go over one with the time

so, what the best way to rise the hight of the car ? and can i do it while i still maintain or keep my coil-overs ??

i was thinking of two things going back to stock suspensions and maybe use some 40F and 45 rear tire if possible ?

thanks for u help in advance

You could get over all of those with that car (except that last crazy one) if you go over them at an angle.

Post pics of the coilovers installed on your car in current form , also what size wheel 18 or 19? I bet you can lift the car up slightly.

The lowered Z is cool, but often there is a trade off. Sometimes the bottom of the car gets beat to shiit.

I do NOT recommend that you alter ride height with tire height. This will increase axle-ground clearance. It is unnecessary and unwanted.

Get yourself some OEM springs and dampers.

i have greddy exhaust tic 2.75 inch and huge rear mufflers .

why not use bigger or taller tires

my tire spec

R 295/30 on 10inch 18 is a 25.1 Overall Diameter (inch)

what am looking at is
toyo r888
R 305/35 on same rim the overall diameter (inch) would be 26.3 which is a 1.2 inch taller

But am not sure about the clearance ( if tire would rube or not ) even with stock hight ?

or

R 275/40 toyo R888 26.7 overall diameter (inch)

or

mickey thompsontires

R305/45R18 SizeEquivalent (29X11.50R18) rims range 9.5-11.0 overall diameter 28.8
this one is what am interested

for front
toyo r888
with 18s 9.5inch 275/40 diameter 26.7

or
mickey thompsontires
F 18 265/40 diameter 26.5

the quistion is would they fit with my suspension or stock suspension?

Do the 305/35 rears and bump up to the 275/35 fronts.

they don't offer 275/35 only 40s toyo R888 in 18s

would something with 28.8 diameter fit on Z ? 305/45 18s
or maybe nitto with 28.6 ?

about your setup would i still keep my coil-over or not just asking ?

Thats funny i was looking at the Toyo website when i made my post http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/proxes-r888 . And yes, keeping everything on your car as is, you would gain a bit of height. Also your coilovers, most people don't know how to set them up. You can probably lift the car a bit with them.

i guess i missed them :P sorry

its not much differ in terms of hight between 275/35 and mine now 265/35 is about .3 inch
would the .3 make a notice able difference ? ( i don't think so )

rather than 275/40 which is a 1 inch taller 26.7 to 25.7

am not arguing her just looking for more info before i dump a load of $$

Possible its your resonators making a mess of things. I have a greddy ti-c single and the resonator is the worst design possible. Its .5 inches from the drive shaft and the bottom is the lowest part of the car. Ive been planning to get rid of it and use a bottle type resonator to get some extra clearance. Maybe thats your problem.

No way on the 305/45, that is a horrible tire for a Z.

I think you have to split your calculated tire height increase by 2, since half the tire is above the axle and half is below.

Easiest thing, I think, would be to replace the coilovers with stock shocks and springs for now. Also, why do you need R888s for the street?
